Trip to St Paul??

My spring break starts March 13th and lasts a week and change.. During this trip I was hopin to catch a Blues game on the road somewhere and take a little roadtrip..  The only chance I would probably have is the game on the 15th vs the Wild.. and of course that is the tail end of a month at home with no hockey.. which doesnt bother me as much as it did when schedules come out

The only problems with this is im only 18 and my parents are pretty likely to laugh at me if i ask them if i can make the drive up there.. they are strict and im a lazy shit so not a good combination.. So this is where my SLGT family comes in.. anybody have any good arguments that i can use to help my case on going up there

And on the off chance that they do allow me to go I dont know the St Paul area very well.. or at all.. so idk if anyone on GameTime lives up in Minnesota or knows of any good places to stay i could really use that information to show my parents that ive got everything planned out and everything in the hopes that theyll let me go.

Thanks for the help.. and as always FUCK DETROIT and CHICAGO!!!

I know just how you feel.

im 17 and my parents are the exact same. The best thing to do is to tell them that your legally and adult and should be able to make your own decisions,If you can get a couple of friends to go along to, that would better

Some terrible advice

Go visit a friend somewhere close — surely you have a friend or something away at college. Go visit them and then the two (or more) of you can go to Minnesota. You don’t have to tell your parents about the second part of the trip.

Get a group together. When I was 18, my parents wouldn’t let me go to Florida after graduation. We rounded up about 10 other people — friends my parents knew and trusted — and I got the go ahead.

Or, you can always just lie.

Third option, buy a ticket for The Hockey Prof and tell your folks that you’re going to Minnesota to hang out with a guy you met online in a chat room. That should go over real well.

haha

all of those are excellent options which i have no problem with lol.. the only thing with even tryin to tell them im goin to visit a friend is i had a hard enough time gettin the ok to go on a 2 or 3 hr trip.. this will be like 9 lol.. and if i randomly disappear for a few days theres a good chance i dont have a place to live anymore lol

Tell em you met someone on Craigslist.......

……….nevermind, that shit will get you arrested. HAHA

Consider Amtrak, you can find some HELLA deals on there, especially trains that leave early. For example, a train from STL to Chicago is only $23… it leaves at 630am, but for that price its totally worth it.

Just make sure it's NOT the "Texas Eagle".

That damn thing is ALWAYS six-ten hours late.
