The Jake Allen Trade Question
I saw that Jake Allen was traded today after the game last night. But it was a trade within the league he is playing right now. Does anyone know if that means anything to his status within our system? I am not exactly sure how his level effects our level. I am hoping for our sake that he is still considered in the Blues system. Let me know if anyone has any insight into the matter. I really hope we didn't get rid of him.

Two shutouts and he didn't play well?
I don’t know if I can agree with that assessment man.
Two shutouts, yes... but they came against Latvia and Switzerland...
…and he saw a total of what, 25 shots in the two games?
Not saying that I agree with the Confederate general up there; just looking to keep things in persepctive.
I think most of us could have shut out Latvia behind the Canadian defense.

i dont think that affects anything
hes still a Blue i would assume… i dont think trades in the QMJHL have any bearing on his NHL status..

hes still a blues prospect
the blues own his rights, but his jr. team traded him. it just means he is going to a different jr. team.
nothing to be worried about.
Spot-on, Joe...

He's played against some pretty good teams in the "Q," Stonewall...
…where he has a 2.89 GAA, 91.1% save percentage, and six shutouts in 106 career games.
Jake Allen QMJHL career stats.
But yeah, he didn’t play lights-out for two games in a short tournament, so surely he’s not that good, the better results over a much larger sample size notwithstanding .
Are you the goaltending expert who started the “Scratch Jake Allen off your lists – BUST” thread over at The Asylum, by any chance?

Umm okay, so you didnt get the point
I said its not good above in thinking that his trade affected his status with the Blues. As far as not playing well in the tournament I think you gave about the same answer that I did. 25 shots in 2 games against Latvia and Switz. WOW! He is a sound goaltender, he just didn’t step up in WJC. I dont have anything against Allen, aparently neither does the team that traded for him. And not that it matters, but NO I didnt start a Jake Allen BUST thread- sounds like a personal issue to me.

after research
bleed and joe are right about him still being a blues prospect. ( not about how well he played. ) in juniors, trades don’t matter as far as a player b/c the team still has the rights to him. Junior teams are not NHL farm teams. If he was in the AHL or ECHL and he got traded than it would matter b/c it would have been a pro team making the deal/trade to bring him up through their system.

What's funny about this thread...
isn’t even that none of you knew this (except tomorrows), even though the reason i used to love this site so much was BECAUSE we all had such a good base of knowledge. But now I come back and there are all these new nerds (& not the cool “nerds” like we used to proudly call ourselves here) who have the nerve to open their ignorant mouths to a LEGEND like TomorrowsBlues. Anyone other than him remember when GDTs had 2 be updated every second??? No! Anyone else been here that long? Worked hard to contribute to this overpriced beer coaster(hehe)? I love the site & rags popularity, but some of these folks took that, “$4 worth of street cred” too seriously. Know your place, shut-up & learn something for a while, then let your bucket mouths spill over. Until then sit back, enjoy the show, and shove the rest up your ass.
