Ugh, back to back late games.
There are those who say that there are no such thing as "moral victories". I disagree. This San Jose game, I believe, counts as one. While we only came away with one point, I believe this team looked a LOT better than the one we've been seeing in the last few home games. The amount of heart, intensity, and all around puck-hunger is greatly improved from before. However long this lasts, I'll take it. The results will come in time.
We've seen how the coaching change has affected the youngsters on our team. I wonder about the captain, Eric Brewer. Last night (OK, earlier this morning) there were many of us on the GDT mentioning him in, dare I say, positive tones. He and Jackman really saved our bacon late in the game. Actually, the last few games have been amongst his best all year. Since Christmas he has 2G, 1A and is -3 (which, during that home stand, ain't too bad).
So, our second installment in Mash-Up week is in honor of Eric Brewer:
Feel Good Roboto/ Victor Menegaux (Styx vs Gorillaz)
Back on 10/17, we got our first victory since Sweden by beating the Ducks in Anaheim by a score of 5-0, with Conklin earning the shutout. Since then, the Ducks have been having more problems, and now reside in 13th place in the West - tied with us in points, but we have a game in hand for 12th. Lately, they have gone 4-6-0 in their last 10, and 2-3-0 in their last 5. Their last game was a 4-1 drubbing of Detwat, so they might be feeling a little better about themselves. We need to put an end to that.

This is you pregame pre-party. Compare traffic nightmare stories, bitch about snow, laugh at the wusses that called in to work, and get ready for a physical game. Puck drops at 9 PM, the GDT should be up shortly before.
If/when we win the Big One, would you consider getting something similar?

I got to stay home today!!!! YAY!!! Work originally called me to say that I was going to be the only one called in but they’d compensate me with extra time or a day off (since no one else was going to be there) and they wanted me in around 10am. Then, I got a phone call about 9:15 saying to just go ahead and stay home because there wasn’t anything going on. YAY SNOW DAY!!!! Funny thing, we didn’t even get that much….but the 45mph winds blew all the loose stuff everywhere and made hugemongouser drifts & closed roads again.
Glad I don’t have to be out today…its like -45° windchill!! BRRRRR!!!!!

I agree about the moral victory thing.
For us to hold the best team in the league to one regulation goal is impressive. We looked… what’s the word… almost brighter on the ice. Like a monkey was off of their backs. I’m hoping that they build on this tonight and take out the Ducks.

on Paulie? Being against his former team, maybe this is the time to bring him back. I saw he said he wasn’t sure why he was being kept out of the lineup, i.e. he thought he was healthy enough to go in (maybe that’s just the concussion talking…)

There are lots of quarterbacks that will be available 2nd round.
Most NFL quarterbacks that are good come in the later rounds for some reason with the exception of a few.
If the Rams take Colt McCoy, it'll be either at the top of the 2nd
or with a 2nd first rounder from trading down/up. (Turf Show Times mentions they’d consider him in the 3rd, but I’d at least think he’d be gone by then.)
A friend of mine spent a semester at UT, and she had McCoy in one of her classes (math, I think). She says he never went to class and when he did he had an overall heir of austontation (more than likely spelled wrong, I’m sure). That said, if he could help the Rams suck slightly less and keep them from trading for Michael Vick, I’d be all for it!
