I don't know what's worse...

… that Lalime even gets mentioned (being the partial-season disaster that he was), or that he completely supplants Legace in the timeline.

…chatter before the goalie started playing for us or shortly thereafter didn’t match up to expectations and in that sense Lalime was definitely qualified to be there. And there just wasn’t room for Legace.

I get that...

I just don’t have any memories of Lalime being promoted as “the answer”. In fact, my memory says that part of the hype about Legace was the fact that he so much better than Lalime. Maybe that’s just my mind playing tricks on me.

If you had been aiming at a complete list, you’d have needed a lot more space; Legace and Brent Johnson are clear qualifiers not represented, and you could have started the list with Grant Fuhr (who was pimped by Keenan as being a guy who wouldn’t choke in must-win games).
