Cam Janssen Out For Two Weeks
After Janssen and Brad Winchester tried to sandwich a Flyers player (resulting in a fight with Scott Hartnell), Janssen ended up having to leave the game in the 2nd period.
Reported a couple of minutes ago on the Twitter:
Janssen out two weeks with concussion and sternum contusion. - @jprutherford
Cam janssen will miss 2 weeks with concussion and sternum injury - @andystrickland
Video of the hit below. It was a vicious hit, and I wish Janssen the best. Guy was doing great last night, and I hope that he comes back and continues what is going to look like a great season.

soooo
i would hope the blues call someone(s) up question is, should it be a d-man that almost made the team on his preseason play, or a forward which is the obvious injury hole created for 2 weeks.
honestly we got a 3 game trip after monday afternoon and then we back home, the blues could get away with doing nothing

Call me heartless but...
seeing the goofy smile on freshly concussed players cracks me up. It’s like a newborn fresh outta the womb.
“Wow! look at the pretty world in front of me.”
Back in the day they just told you to “Walk it off.”
Here’s hopin CAMSMASH is back in action soon.
Just a chew toy for the hockey gods
Ryan Reaves coming up
I gotta say, I think Cam is going to be out a lot longer than two weeks. His jump is to take punches to the head — can’t do that with a brain injury.
I think Cam’s out at least a month.
St. Louis Game Time Fact: Morning links are part of a well-balanced meal.
SBNSTL Writing about the Blues in more than one line is tough.
A no duh move, really
You lose your tough guy, you call up your reserve tough guy. Since outside of Reaves, we only have 11 healthy forwards, Reaves will get his first NHL start Monday. Hope he does well.
Breaking News: I'm currently in the process of writing "I will not say and/or type "that word" 1,000 times.
Was hoping to see Della Rovere
but Reaves is probably the more experienced player in that role. Hopefully Winchester can atone for his sins with some production in the time Cam’s out.
SDR just played his first AHL game...
It wouldn’t surprise me to see him spend the entire year in Peoria, acclimating to professional hockey.
On the other hand, Reaves’ promotion could be a good thing for the Blues. Reaves has 35 points in three AHL seasons; 0.21 points per game isn’t much, but it dwarfs the 0.08 points per game that Janssen scored when he was in the minors. Reaves isn’t a scorer by any stretch of the imagination, but he apparently doesn’t need the arrow taped to his stick telling him which end goes on the ice.
It’s kind of ironic that the two most marginal NHLers on the roster both managed to be involved in the same collision, especially since they both had to go well out of their way, and both managed to draw charging penalties for their boneheadedness. Hopefully Janssen recovers quickly, and it wouldn’t bother me a bit if Reaves plays well enough to keep the roster spot.

winchester has to go
I didn’t care too much for him before that hit and now every time I see him all I’ll think about is him knocking cam out for weeks when cam looked to be having a great game.
No one knows why, but second only to eating the brains of the living, the dead love affordable pre-fab furniture.

I told me 8yo daughter about Brad running into Cam smash, knocking him out of the lineup for 2 weeks. You know what she said?
“Brad stinks.”

I think
with two quick Recs, I might have made this a fanshot instead… lol
PC Load Letter? What the fuck does that mean?
even if you made it now
I’d still Rec it harder than Winchester’s fan reputation

Winchester the bluenote
You’re bringing me down
You charged and then mischecked
now cam has left town
You could have done something
like learned how to skate
but you didn’t do nothing
and now for cam its too late
Now everyone knows
just how much we needed our goon
but you just rang his bell
and he left the ice far too soon
Winchester the blue note
You’re bringing me down
we stood and we watched as
you plays made us frown

I think we all forget that this time last year when we started to slump, cam was the only forward that showed heart, and honest to god scoring potential. Last night he had 2 prime chances, a few good hits, and an idiot to the head. sigh
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Jay McClement for Selke in 2011. Justice will be served. Penalties will be killed.
Is this enough to get Brad Winchester cut?
Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
If it wasn't for bad luck...
I don’t think Cam or Winch would have any luck at all.
