Road Music: 10/18 @ Chicago Blackhawks

The first road trip of the season has been a bummer, to say the least. Tonight the Blues fly into Chicago with the extra baggage of a 2-game losing streak. Not only that, the loss in Dallas was particularly tough to take - I don't believe that the Blues played particularly poorly. They got off to a good start, jumping to a 2-goal lead. The PK was great, not allowing any Dallas PP goals. The Blues outshot the Stars 43-25, and seemed to dominate the puck possession game as well. Yet, despite so many things going right, there was enough wrong to leave a point behind in Dallas.

And now our boy(e)s face Chicago. The Hawks winning the Cup - it still just doesn't seem real. I guess what they say is true:

The Enemy: The Chicago bandwagon is still riding high (and probably shirtless) from the Cup win last season. As predicted, the team then had to dump a lot of salary in order to fit under the cap again. In all, Shitcago shipped out 9 players within the league, and then sent Huet to Europe. Nevertheless, the core of the team still remains. After opening with an underwhelming 1-2-1 record, the 'Hawks have won two in a row. Confidence is high again in the Windy City. It would sure be a lot of fun to see our team puncture that confidence.

No worries.

based on the recommendation from the other Hawks commenter I checked that guy’s status. He’s been banned by Second City Hockey and he’s Hawks fan. That’s all I needed to know, so he’s gone.

Probably not a bad idea to remember for tonight though – there are lots of good Hawks fans and then there are “imbreads” like that last one. As dablues said, don’t feed the trolls.
