Admit it -- if it wasn't played after every damn 'Hawks goal at the UC, and ad nauseum throughout their Stanley Cup run, The Fratelli's Chelsea Dagger is a pretty fun song. Bandwagoners pick up on it the most of course, but even longtime fans picked it up and ran with it. Fess up now.
With that in mind, there is one song that's been running laps in my head and, if the Blues were to take a song and run with it as they build what we all hope is a Stanley Cup season, it would be this one:
(and the Youtube link if the embedding got f'ed up.)
This is 'Slink (A Hymn)' by Locksley. Catchy, right? Not much there lyrically, but damned if it doesn't get you up. As much as we loathe Chelsea Dagger, it definitely is a rallying point for Blackhawks fans and I can see a similar response for this one. Blues when a big game, the foghorn blows, the fans get on their feet and the team raises their sticks to the seats as 'Slink' plays them to the locker room and the fans to the concourse.
And yes -- I'm a big fan of The Good Guys. Watch that show while it lasts because it's amazing. Which means Fox will cancel it in 3...2...1...
