Good news tonight for radio fans: When you hear Mason got beat, you cant cheer without worry now that Chris is in the ATL.

Hockey news

  • The Dallas Stars are for sale and are looking for a new president until a new owner takes over. [Defending Big D]
  • From the Rink talks TV, ESPN and Versus and the NHL. [From the Rink]
  • Derek Boogaard, probably the most useless player in all of hockey, finally finds the back of the net. The last time he scored? I was a sophomore in college and not able to drink yet (legally). Oh and Alex Pietrangelo was 11 days shy of his 16th birthday. [Puck Daddy]
  • From Puck Daddy: Shawn Thornton is an entertaining dude. [Things Shawn Thornton Has Said]
  • Steven Stamkos scored twice to beat Toronto on Tuesday. Dude also did a Puck Daddy interview. He's crazy talented any may be my favorite non-Blue in the NHL. [Puck Daddy]
  • Look like we won't have coach challenges next year. [TSN]
  • Lindy Ruff is about to coach game No. 1,000 for the Sabres. [TSN]

  • From Mr. Particle: Apparently we live in a world with superheroes not named "Halak." Who knew. [Gizmag]
  • Dogs, not cats, can look like Chewbacca. Dogs 3241, Cats 0. [Buzzfeed]
  • There is a blog devoted to what's in people's fridges. Mine is mostly empty except for hot dogs and Coke.[Clutch]
  • Here are 35 Beavis and Butt-Head inspired insults. Oh how I remember "butt munch." [Fridgewatcher]

Video

It's Blues vs. Blue Jackets. You know what that means? Keep your head up, Rick Nash. (Side note: I picked this version for another reason too: Look at the soft goals Mason allowed. Jeebus.)

That'll do for today. Brad's got something special for later and, of course, we will have road music and the GDT. Should be fun.

Is that a hockey article from the Kansas City Star? Well fuck me running.

Yeah it is

I got the link from another forum I’m on. Hell of an interesting idea though

Baltimore Blast - 6-time MISL/NISL Champions
Let's go Blues!

OT, but I would still like to see Kansas City and Quebec both come back to the NHL

Realign into four divisions of eight teams each — Smythe, Norris, Patrick and Adams.

That’d open up two expansion cities for the AHL as well, so that each NHL team has an affiliate. I’d like to see New Orleans take a stab at pro hockey again… maybe Green Bay, too.

Actually, it's the Toronto Star

All the articles are about Toronto and thus, all of Canada…

I was wondering why a KC paper would have links to Damien Cox articles...

… and why the “top stories” links included an article on the Leafs’ sixth consecutive loss and something about the Raptors.

I love the idea! Makes a meaningless game more interesting and fun!

So hey! You think Dan O'Neill is bad (and he is) . . .

The MiklaszNess Monster wrote something titled Monday Morning Backup Goalie.

Seriously, this guy didn’t have time for hockey until Halak showed up. Fuck him.

St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.

You know what bugs me???

Jeff Gordon’s ‘banner’ has nothing hockey in it.
This just disturbs the shit out of me.

Jeff Gordon is a dumbass...plain and simple...

he knows just a little bit about every sport…just enough to be dangerous. Jeff Gordon’s attempt to write about hockey is like my attempt to speak Spanish in Tijuana.

and

Esta es el baño?

I’m good…

Donde esta el baño?

is the correct question.
Your use of both estar (to be) and ser (to be) is redundant. Estar should be used for location. Donde means where.

Sometimes, I wonder why hockey came south of St. Louis, and then I realize, I'm south of St. Louis. Coincidence, I think not.

The BND article is goood. Wish we could get more stuff by Sanders.

by Marcus E Pettersson on Nov 10, 2010 8:36 AM CST reply actions

Norm Sanders is probably the best actual hockey writer in the local professional media...

Jeremy Rutherford is good, but Sanders is a little better, and has been doing hockey longer than JR.

I wouldn’t give you a bag of used jockstraps for the rest of the knuckleheads at the Post-Disgrace… for Gordon to call himself “The Hockey Guy” is laughable; Miklasz and O’Neill can’t be bothered unless they’re ordered to write something hockey; and Burwell is a complete joke.

Completely off-topic question but not sure where to "post" this:

I am looking for Blues-specific MP3 ring tones. Would love some famous goal calls (Wilson’s Monday Night Miracle call of Wickenheiser’s goal would be epic) or some of Dan Kelly’s goal calls as well. Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

I may skank around and visit my other favorite teams' SBNation blogs, but I always come home to www.stlouisgametime.com and my beloved St Louis Blues.

Also...St. Louis Cardinals. Denver Broncos. Univ of Denver Hockey and Lacrosse. Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Outlaws Lacrosse.

If you've got AT&T, you can get The St. Louis Blues March as a ringtone through their site...

I had it until I got the opening riff from “Layla” as my tone, which I have always wanted as a ringtone… Clapton is God.

...even though that riff is more Duane Allman than Clapton...

This is a bad idea for the all-star game!!!!

It was tried this last summer by Women’s Professional Soccer and they are just about to fold as a league. Is this a coincidence? Probably so…it just has the feeling of really bad mojo to me. That is something the NHL doesn’t need while trying to get on a real network.

Myself, I'd be in favor of eliminating the All-Star Game altogether...

…it’s a complete waste of time — as are all All-Star Games — as far as I’m concerned.

If it actually meant something — like MLB at least does with giving the winning side home-field advantage in the World Series — it’d be a different story. But all this is now is a popularity contest that doesn’t mean diddly.
