PROSPECT BEACH DEALT TO MOOSE JAW:

Six months ago, the Calgary Hitmen were the Western Hockey League champions and competing for the Memorial Cup. Early last week, the Hitmen shook up the roster of their last-place club by trading their leading scorer.

RW prospect Cody Beach, drafted 134th overall by the Blues in the 2010 Entry Draft, was sent eastward to the Moose Jaw (SK) Warriors along with left wing Mackenzie Royer in exchange for left wings Nathan Mackenize and Danny Gale, and goaltender Brandon Glover.

The 6' 5, 180-pound forward had been Calgary's scoring leader with a 5-9-14 scoring line in 16 games (plus-1, 73 PM, 1 GWG), and picked up a pair of assists (including one on the game-winning goal) in Moose Jaw's 4-2 win over Brandon on Saturday night.
