David Perron out tonight
The Blues have confirmed that David Perron will not play tonight in Boston. Perron is suffering headaches following the hit by Thornton on Thursday.
This from the Blues Official Site:
Blues forward David Perron will not play Saturday at Boston.
Perron took a hit to the head from Sharks forward Joe Thornton in last Thursday's game at Scottrade Center. Perron did finish the game, tallying a goal in the second period.
Thornton received a two-game suspension for the hit.
Perron's absence will end his consecutive games played streak at 167.
No word on whether Perron will be in the lineup Sunday against the New York Rangers
On the upside, Nikitin will play his first game tonight in place of Barret Jackman...

WTF!?
I’m glad Nikitin will be playing but hot buttered lug nuts!!!! So we’re without HALF of our defensive corps, AND our leading scorer is out? This is just getting ridiculous.
Barret Jackman is my hero.
Fueled. These new shores burn. Shadow, my sweet shadow, to you I look no more.
never fear, my friend
dp was TiED with Matt D’Agostini. As long as the Dagger is still wristing bullets at the net, the Blues will be FINE.

SBNSTL Writing about the Blues in more than one line is tough.
This is fucking ridiculous.
For everybody who whined that Thornton shouldn’t be suspended because Perron “didn’t even get hurt!” — fuck off. Just bc Frenchie is the only tough Frenchman on the planet doesn’t mean Thornton didn’t make an illegal hit.
If someone drives drunk and hits another car, but doesn’t do any damage, the cop’s dont just let them go. Fucking idiotic reasoning.
Fuck.
Next in the Nate the Great mystery series: Nate the Great searches for a free-agent forward who doesn't blow dicks.
Douglas Murray, Joe Thornton, Bobby Holik, Larry Murphy, and Jamie Baker should all contribute big bucks to a medical research foundation concerning sports concussions.
I hope their previous comments have them apologizing and accepting personal responsibility and accountability for their false claims and suppositions.
Now, let me tell you how I really feel…(lol)
Fucking douches should get blindsided by a truck and suffer the agonies of hell for their stupid, insensitive, puerile comments. These jackwagons can all go to Mamby Pamby land for some cold, nasty CROW sandwiches!!!

Wow...
Total suck-o-rama
I still don’t agree with Thornton’s suspension…but this sux monkey balls.
Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!
Well that fucking blows.
At least it’s (probably) Rask and not Thomas. (Has that been confirmed, btw?)
Any chance Perron can play tomorrow night? Man, I really hope we can keep our momentum through this injury bug and get some points out of this weekend’s tough games.
Mission halfway accomplished...

well shit
and fall back in it. Scary stuff. I was just reading about another player who got clocked last year and he’s still fuzzy and waiting to return. This can be a career ender.
Just a chew toy for the hockey gods
this from Real_ESPNLeBrun on twitter:
Blues prez John Davidson: “Joe Thornton is not a dirty player. But he crossed the line. We have a player that can’t play tonight because he got a shoulder to the head that was blindsided.”

On the other hand
That loud stick tapping the goalie does when a player is coming out of the box is for a reason. You wanna admire the puck in your skates you’re going to get decleated posterized in the NHL.

Buuuuuuuut this kinda completely destroys the “perron… he was faking it” sideshow

Hope he gets some playing time tomorrow vs. the Rangers...
If they’re just gonna pressbox him, then send him back down for Peoria’s game tomorrow afternoon.

Great.....
I bet now the San Jose fans cry that Perrons just doing this so the league denies the appeal of the suspension……..
Fuckin tools….all of em
I still maintain Vladimir Konstantinov got what he deserved...If you can't handle that then kiss my ass......
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Thankfully
the appeal was turned down earlier. Way before it was announced Perron wasn’t playing tonight.
It’s not going to stop them though – bet they now think it’s a big conspiracy to justify what the NHL has done.

Jamie Baker can eat my dick.
That is all.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
I'm tellin ya, as a guy who has had 6 or 7 concussions
The headaches take a while to pass. The lingering effects suck…I am having a migrane right now from Post-Concussion Syndrome.
Whether you like it or not, those hits need to be banned.
i'm not suggesting i like
injuries or danced on perron’s wooziness. but what i am saying is if you get players instinctively starting to check, then altering it as their brain says “what would buttman do” not only is perron injury JUST as likely (imo) BUT thornton’s chances of injury are INCREASED.
how does forcing extreme body angle changes to correct for size difference, calculating distance to the boards, making sure the other guy sees you etc, while yourdoing your 1 sec check move going to make things safer?
i bet oshies check has some fans calling foul, i’m curious how he SHOULD have done it to make it safer for everyone.
i’m serious, what is the suggestion, cos that check was brutal and if tj oshie throws 10 of them people are going to be injured
