Tuesday links: The Blues are the king of the world edition
Look I'll be honest with you: This kind of start is not sustainable. There is no way the Blues are going to NOT lose a game from here on out. I know this, I really do. Doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy the shit out of this winning streak. I suggest you do the same.
Blues news
- The Blues are the best team in all the land! [TSN]
- ESPN has the Blues at No. 1, again. Life is good for the Blues. [ESPN]
- USA Today loves them some Jaroslav Halak, but not the Blues. St. Louis is No. 2 being the Kings in the power rankings. [USA Today]
- From Tomorrows Blues: The Blues (and Game Time) get some Puck Daddy love. RealBadRobot's Jay for Selke vid makes an appearance. [Puck Daddy]
- The NHL suspended Joe Thornton can we stop talking about it? No? OK. Fine. Jamie "David Perron was faking" Baker apologized for saying Perron was faking, but is now going after the Blues training staff for letting him back on the ice. I hate this story so effing much. [Mercury News]
- The Cannon, the SBN Jackets' blog, is gearing up to face the best team in the NHL. [The Cannon]
- Bernie talks Blues and says all the things we've been saying: Jaro is awesome, Payne is awesome and the d-men depth is unreal. [Bernie Bytes]
- Nick Drazenovic is going back to Peoria. He will be missed? [Blues]
- Halak is the third star in the NHL. [Montreal Gazette]
- Kelly Chase is an really good dude. [Vancouver Sun]
- Thanks to Dan O'Neill, I now know Ty Conklin is not a Chilean miner. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
Hockey news
- The Leafs have had Phil Kessel for more than a full season and are quite happy to have him in Toronto. [Pension Plan Puppets]
- You never forget the first time you see your favorite team in person. [Nucks Misconduct]
- Panthers' fans are trying to find something good about the team. Turns out they didn't have to look too hard. [Litter Box Cats]
- Kansas Chris passes along some expensive, albeit nice, hockey t-shirts. [Red Jacket Clothing]
- An empire of shitty pizza has enabled Mike Illitch to own the only things of value left in Detroit—the Tigers, Red Wings and now the Pistons. [TSN]
- The Kings are going to be without Willie Mitchell and Happy Poni—aka Alexi Ponikarovsky for quite some times. [TSN]
- TSN wonders who should be in the 2011 HOF class. Pavel Bure is a no-brainer. Everyone else? Meh. Joe Nieuwendyk had a long career. [TSN]
- The 2010 HOF Class is official. [TSN]

- Have you ever said to yourself a Thanksgiving meal would be better as a cake? If so, you're really weird. However, someone has done just—the Thanksgiving turkey cake with mashed potato icing. [Geekologie]
- Seriously cell phones need to stop being so smart. Sometimes I wanna type swear words. It's not wrong. [Damn You Auto Correct!]
- Anyone want to spend a boat load of money or a really old cake that was once owned by some guy who is now dead? Glad you're all normal. [Buzzfeed]
Video
Conan is back on TV and Nate and I both agreed that this is the best sketch ever aired on television. Enjoy.

i wanna see conan

I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth ... while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

We've been to
a couple of those games. They are fun. A group of kids/parents on son#1 baseball team went.
They were amazed at how heavy the bats were, no gloves, different rules….
About halfway through the games they take a break and let kids play for a bit.
The St Louis Perfectos play in Layfayette Square park. I think there is a team in St Charles and Florissant. All part of a midwest leaque.
It’s well worth time and free is good.

$35 for a t-shirt,
no thanks.
Kelly Chase, what a guy. Maybe the charity work will get him and Kerber promoted to TV.

Horray!
You are right, we better enjoy this. I for one wake up every morning smiling that its hockey season, then I remember, GD, the Blues are the best in the league. What a way to start these past few mornings. GDMFD!
That's about an ignorant lede on the Conklin story...
…but, considering the author, it’s par for the course.
