Quite the stat sheet last night, eh? Goals from Silent Jay McClement, Eric Brewer, Brad Winchester and Vladimir Sobotka—who saw that coming?

I hate a capella, but I love me some bed intruder song. Damn you, hatrk219 for sending this along!

Important announcement after the jump.

Star-divide

Announcement: Gallagher and Brad will probably have something about this later today, or perhaps even this weekend, but in all likelihood, this will be last links post I do as the regular links guy. My new job has taken over my life and really sapped a big chunk of free time. I'm not leaving the site, however. Brad and Gallagher are going to let me rant a few times a week in column format, so I'll be around plenty. But, I'm pretty sure my days as a link rat are done.

GTHQ is looking for someone to take the Friday, Saturday and Sunday links. PCS is going to work Monday through Thursday. It's a sweet gig and a lot of fun. I'll even teach you the tricks of the trade of the trade and give you access to the email. If you're interested, comment or email gallagher or the links email.

Poor College Student will have you for this weekend. Someone will have the Monday links, but it probably won't be me.

And I'll leave you with a song that has no meaning whatsoever. It's what I do.

Loove the WWII propaganda posters.

I use those and a lot of the old banned Loony Tunes cartoons (especially the Ductators) in my world history class – nothing like a good old Leon Schlessenger production for your daily dose of inappropriateness.

I have to admit, though...

… I’ve never seen a reverse one like this. Usually the ads are warning the men away from women. Random.

In the Philipines the clap call nurses painted your balls

with a purple dye not unlike that bank robbery stuff to keep the men from spreading the drip. If you were stationed there the hookers wouldn’t touch you and only a fool would try and sandpaper that shit off. For the poor unlucky bastards on the aircrews that were there and gone in a few days I hear the confrontation with the wives was epic.

Ok damnit...

I have to admit it…

I just changed my work CPU background to the airborne Winchester pic from the Game Recap last night…

I know I don’t like Winchester…but he’s SLOWLY gaining credit in my books…

And well shit, that picture is just too damn cool.

Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!

Gotta admit, Win-ginger is growing on me a little as well.

Fuck all the Winny haters, I’ll be the only #15 walking around Blues games amongst the thousands of Teeej jersies,

I’m even thinking a tat now.

Maybe my speakers are just too fuzzy...

… but I must have missed the part where the Liberty University singers got to the “rapin airbody out hurr” line. They wouldn’t censor a meme, would they?

I guess I should have put more emphasis in my "shock" at the idea of censoring a meme...

… I was going for the cheap joke, and evidently didn’t spend enough on the punchline.

An answer

to the question:

My question to all the people saying Doug Armstrong has to make a move … who do you trade and what do you look for in return?

According to the Pioneer-Press the Wild are moving towards selling sooner rather than later, AND they would be looking to dump salary. Anti Miettenen could be had for a prospect and a draft pick probably. His speed would suit the style the Blues have been cultivating.

There you go.

by Rich of GASL on Dec 17, 2010 12:31 PM CST reply actions

Career highs (in different seasons) of 20 goals and 29 assists...

… he’d fit right in with the rest of the Punch-and-Judy lineup the Blues are icing these days.

by BleedBlue42 on Dec 17, 2010 2:10 PM CST up reply actions

his .62 points per game this season

…would put him fourth on the Blues behind Backes, Steen and McDonald.

by Rich of GASL on Dec 17, 2010 2:29 PM CST up reply actions

As I said... he'd fit right in.

If Armstrong sees a spot for Miettinen on next year’s roster, then there’s at least the possibility of something happening down the road. But I don’t see the Blues trading anything of significance for a depth forward on the last year of his contract, and someone looking for a playoff rental will probably offer the Wild more in exchange.

by BleedBlue42 on Dec 17, 2010 2:45 PM CST up reply actions

the point it...

…the Wild don’t want to take salary in return. The whole point of having depth is to be able to part with it for needs. The brass cannot fall in love with all of their prospects, and no one is gonna give the Wild top drawer talent for Antti anyway.

Looks like I missed some heavy shit in the post game thread Wednesday

My apologies for the douchebaggery on display from my fellow red wing fan. The guy was out of line even when I was disclaiming responsibility for him, and then proceded to obliterate the line entirely.

Hope you don’t see all us wings fans as tainted, based on an asshat troll like that (calling us tainted for our allegiance is fine, we feel the same about you :) ), but when a guy comes across like that…smh

I'm expecting 100% improvement from the Lions this season.

by ahtrap on Dec 17, 2010 12:54 PM CST reply actions

Thank you.

I don’t begrudge any of you guys based on things other than your team allegiances. For folks to start messing with Carnie’s like opening a shit-ton can of worms and whoop-ass all in one, so we’re all glad that you guys think he’s as big of an ass as we do. It’s really much appreciated.

You, ahtrap, are A-OK...

…and despite the way your moderator and others at WIIM have tried to paint me today, I don’t consider all Wing fans to be sword-swallowers.

and then a giant meteor falls from the sky on the DrinkScotch and injures the rest of our players — I’ll be surprised if that doesn’t happen.

First they thought I was ASD, and then ADHD, and after a few years of having MD, they told me that I am probably EI. But all I know for sure is that I have TS... Fuck it, just call me alphabet soup.

The Teddy Bear Toss......

is fucking Hysterical………The only 2 things that can compare in my memory are the Blues-Wings game where Hull scored the Hattrick and it was hat day at Keil……it was like a giant white wave came out of the crowd but it wasnt sustained like the bears…..and a game in the early 90’s at the old Arena and Brendan Shanahan scored a hattrick against the Rangers on Mug night…..everyone kept thorwing the mugs on the ice and they kept shattering so it made a HUGE mess of the ice……..but the Teddy Bears take the cake……

I still maintain Vladimir Konstantinov got what he deserved...If you can't handle that then kiss my ass......

Re: who to trade

Who to trade? It’s gotta be Berglund. So much potential blah, blah, blah. He’s a pussy with no heart who hasn’t contributed squat forever, so what else do you need for a reason to trade him.
