Monday Links: Celebrating the country music award incineration by Backes edition
You think a guy like Backes is content to let a loose puck just be picked up by a Preds defenseman and brought back up the ice? Fuck that. He works harder, outskates the d-man, taps home the insurance, and gets rewarded by stopping using the same method I do when I go skating: Running into the boards at full speed. Hail Backes!

You hate seeing injuries
But Buccigross is tweeting that Cleary is out three weeks with a fractured ankle and out three weeks.
Combine that with Datsyuk’s broken hand, and the Blues have some company in the “really, another freaking injury?!?” department

When Lidstrom slices a tendon...
… and Zetterberg goes out “indefinitely” with a concussion, I’ll fire up the pity-wagon.
Maybe.
I won't...
Screw ’em and the horse they rode in on. Nobody feels sorry for the Blues and their raft of injuries to key players. The Red Wings can suck a big one.

I loved to watch Forsberg play. Even in the last Winter Olympics, he wasn’t the old Forsberg, but he was still exciting as hell to watch. He still is the most electrifying player I have ever witnessed on a regular basis.
Still Lemieux for me
Every game he did something that no one else in the league could do. Didn’t necessarily lead to a goal, but it was always something like “how do you even think of doing that, let alone actually do it?”
Not afraid to nitpick

@gallagher
My sister is the girl with the Bertuzzi Blues jersey you referenced in the paper last night. Unfortunately, no amount of public shaming will keep her from wearing it. To be fair, that girl is all Blues heart and just has a poor choice for a favorite player, but feel free to call her out in the concourse, as there is no excuse for his name on the back of a Blues sweater.
maybe we can get her
a steve moore patch for it?

...with extra Awesome Sauce, please.
The only thing I dislike about the iPad is that it has no external USB ports for memory sticks, or slots for camera cards. That’s why i love my li’l notebook…
