Forward Prospect Statistics as of Feb. 21, 2010

St. Louis Game Time PROSPECT SUNDAYS

After a goal-scoring drought over the last few games, goals rained down for the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday night, and forward prospects led the charge.

After falling behind early in the second period by a 3-0 score, veteran Cam Paddock got the Rivermen on the board with his 6th goal of the season at 4:19. Later in the period, on the power play, rookie Lars Eller scored his 9th of the season at 11:11. 31 seconds later, rookie Brett Sonne tied the game with his 7th of the year, and Chris Porter tallied again with the eventual game-winner at 12:26.

After the three goals in 1:15 to take the lead, Sonne chipped in his second goal of the game, and 8th of the season, at 19:21 to close out a five-goal period for the Rivermen. That's only happened one other time this year, back on Nov. 20 during the first period of a 7-2 shellacking of San Antonio at Carver Arena. The second-period explosion closed out the scoring in the game, and Hannu Toivonen stopped 27 of 30 shots to preserve a 5-3 win for the Rivermen.

Elsewhere, Jori Lehtera continues to lead the SM-Liiga in scoring with 58 points in 48 games, and in assists with 39. Here's a LINK to Lehtera's profile at the Tappara Tampere website. You won't need to buy any vowels from Pat and Vanna, but you will need to know Finnish in order to read it. There are, however, any number of pretty nice pictures of the Blues' 65th overall selection in 2008, plus a facsimile of his autograph, and a list of his "firsts" in the SM-Liiga, and with Tappara.

Translated, those "firsts" are as follows: First SM-Liiga game, 9-14-2006 for Jokerit vs. HIFK; first SM-Liiga point, an assist on 10-5-2006 for Jokerit vs. Tappara; first SM-Liiga goal, on 10-11-2006 for Jokerit vs. Lukko; first game with Tappara, 9-13-2007 vs. Ilves; first point with Tappara, an assist on 9-15-2007 vs. JYP; first goal with Tappara, 9-22-2007 vs. Pelicans.

LINK to photos at Tappara Tampere website of Tappara's 5-1 loss to HIFK Helsinki. Scroll down to see Lehtera wearing the golden helmet (SM-Liiga Player Of The Week) in the 8th picture of the set. Lehtera, by the way, assisted on Tappara's only goal in that game.

I've always hated that nonsense.
