PCS, Averagejoe Announce Trade

Short Version: Averagejoe is covering tomorrow's Sunday Links while I take over for him on Monday so I can go out with some buddies on a party bus tonight.

Long Version: In the early hours of Saturday afternoon, Poor College Student needed to find a solution ensuring that the good people of SLGT would be provided with quality linkage for Sunday's Gold Medal Game with Canada AND that he would be able to raise hell at Lumiere Hotel with some friends before heading out on a party bus to various destinations. Averagejoe, having a long history of link swapping with PCS, has agreed to take over for Sunday's morning linkage in exchange for PCS covering Monday's links in addition to covering a link day to be named later.

Heresy!

Don’t believe all these supposed ‘trade rumors’ making their rounds on the Internet these days. I have it on good record from the AverageJoe camp that it intends to pull from within its own system to supply depth in the homestretch this season.

A trade which, to my eyes, seems to be a trade-for-the-sake-of-trading scenario, doesn’t make sense fiscally or as a means to reinvigorate a depleted AverageJoe bench. Until ESPN reports and Wysh verifies, this supposed ‘done deal’ should be filed as nothing more than ‘speculation.’

I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.

Hopefully this is the shake-up the weekend and Monday links needed.

You look at the final stretch of the season and there’s not much time left, and obviously we’d all like the links to be in a higher position — hopefully everyone in this room can agree on that. I’d like to think they’ve been good, but sometimes good isn’t good enough, and obviously management felt like a change was needed. It’s easier to fire the coach than to trade 20 players, but sometimes you can’t fire the coach either. Particularly when the coach owns this whole joint. Maybe Averagejoe goes down for a Sunday and gets a fresh perspective, and maybe PCS gives Monday links a little boost. That’s how we all gotta look at this. One game at a time.

I don't like this deal for the long term.

I mean, sure it’ll probably work out well the rest of this season for both parties, but what if that Links Post To Be Named Later turns into the next David Backes Scores 4 Goals Edition? Then averagejoe and his fans will be kicking themselves for years!

Let me just say

That my camp is very pleased by this deal. We have been looking to make a change for quite some time and when PCS texted with his offer, it sounded like something that could make this club better.

Knowing PCS’s situation, we knew we had the leverage and fought hard for that day to be named later. As well all know, Monday is a prime link day and alone is not worth Sunday in a one-for-one swap.

The Averagejoe camp is excited about this deal and hopes to announce the day to be named later sooner rather than later.
