KPLR news 1970 with Bob Plager. I don't remember Bob doing the news, I'm guessing he was the sports guy? How long did he have this gig?

I got 20 bucks that says he can drink the rest of the KPLR team under the table

I seem to remember that Bill Thomas did some time for a drug related offense (and lost his job over it). Anyone else remember this, or did I dream it?

In that article

Take a look at the article “the long hot summer; just a thought” by TIm Landis. Landis looks strikingly similar to Tobias Funke.

Isn't Christine Buck still there?

I couldve sworn I saw her on KPLR as recently as last year…might be imagining things.

I think she's still there. Amazingly.

And that is a lovely shirt on Bobby. Somebody go down to his bar tonight an ask him. It’s in the classy part of Valley Park.

Someone on STLToday said Bob was the sports guy for a year or two tops.

I don’t recall him doing the sports but it’s been a long time. He was famous for the chops and those shirts. I’m still checking to see if there’s some video out there of him doing a broadcast. From what I’ve been told all of KPLR’s video tape was erased since the cheap bastards didn’t want to buy new tape, they just recorded over the old shit. All them Blues hockey games, Wrestling at The Chase and more gone forever. Fuckin tragic.

Barnburner would know...

He’s a pretty reliable and informed poster over there… one of the very few.

That’s pretty friggin’ short-sighted of them… not to mention, as you said, cheap as all hell.
