Lines 2010-2011

The Blues have to go younger next season. The farm system has so many great players that the Blues need to give them a shot. There are too many players on the team currently that are "just there" and do not make a positive impact on this team. I would like to see the Blues trade for a young goalie that Conklin can back up. There will be a need for a LW in the off season, but for now:

David Perron - David Backes - T.J. Oshie

Lars Eller - Patrik Berglund - Andy McDonald

Alex Steen - Jay McClement - Brad Boyes

DJ King - Brandon Crombeen - Matt D'Agostini

-------- Brett Sonne --------

Erik Johnson - Alex Pietrangelo

Ian Cole -  Jonas Junland

Barret Jackman - Roman Polak

----- Mike Weaver ------

i could see weaves

getting a nice payday with a young, bad team. hes shown he can play and i think some team may jay mckee him — although not at an insane price. he could be a 5-6 in stl or a 3-4 on a bad team.

I see what you did there.

Let’s roll these lines for a couple of seasons and stockpile us some #1 draft picks!!!

No Brewer? Where is our return on that trade?

Blues won’t put 2 RH and 2 LH shots on one pairing, especially when 3 of the 4 woudl be rookies.

King is your #13 with Sonne in Peoia. Blues need to get some type of return if you are cutting out Brewer. As in a top 6 or top 9 winger.

I’m assuming we traded Eric Brewer for that “young goalie that Conklin can back up.”

And maybe threw in a first rounder or something. I’m sure that’d get us someone.

I was a full supporter of buying out Brewer...

But, honestly, he’s a better option then Cole at this point. Junland and Stratchan are both solid options, and I’d like to give Jonas a serious shot next year, but I think Brewer IS a solid guy to have around, and wouldn’t get that big of a score of a trade anyway.

As for our forwards, I think what you’ve got down is basically what we’re going to use. Eller will get top 3 line minutes, and Steen has locked himself up in that role as well. I could see us trying to work an upgrade over McClement and keeping him on a pure defensive minded line however. If Tkachuk does retire, I could see adding another Top 9 forward to be our 2nd objective outside of signing a goalie if we don’t bring Mase back.

Breaking News: I'm currently in the process of writing "I will not say and/or type "that word" 1,000 times.
