Blues Sign Ian Cole; Defenseman Will Report To Peoria
The Blues announced this evening that they have signed former Notre Dame defenseman and 2007 first round pick Ian Cole to an Amateur Tryout Contract. The ATC allows him to join Peoria for the remainder of the season and their playoffs.
Cole played for the Fighting Irish for three years, though he missed considerable time this year due to two concussions. In 111 collegiate games he tallied 17 goals and 48 assists as well as 153 penalty minutes. He is 6'1 and 211 pounds.
It was reported that the Blues were hoping the hulking defender would leave school last summer but he chose to go back for one more season.

It's about time...
Let’s hope Cole steps right in on Wednesday against the Chicago Wolves, who’ve had Peoria’s number all year long, and launches the Rivermen into the playoffs. That’s two first-round picks from 2007 on the Peoria roster now.

2 concussions in 1 year???
That’s not good. You only get so many “tilts” before it’s game over. How many concussions does he have total in his career?

Maybe we need to modify one of those new baseball bobblehead helmets for him.
He’s got a lot of talent, but we’re seeing right now the first hand impact of the performance of players who have gotten knocked into next Tuesday.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
Great news....
Nice. hopefully his head is cleared and he can focus and produce. I had a buddy from highschool play baseball at ND. They take concussions VERY seriously.. more than most. If they cleared him, then he should be free and clear.
I swear I commented on this already
Where did it go.
What did I say? Am I crazy? Who’s screwing with the older person??
It’s not funny.

OK
I finally got my brain working, I did post about this. Someone must’ve taken a fanshot down titled “Ian Cole to Peoria”.
I copied this from my profile but when I click on it I get an error.

I’ll be interesting to see what Brian has to say about this.

Let's see what he's got.
Yeah. That’s about all I can muster. I’m pathetic.
No, really, I’m quite intrigued by what this kid CAN bring . . . if he doesn’t get his head knocked all around the ice.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
I know it was just a pre-season camp...
but Cole just seemed like a guy who was physically ready for the top level of hockey during the prospect camp last year, more so then anyone that was there that wasn’t already in the NHL. Here’s to hope the concussions were just a weird coincidence and we don’t see any more. Good luck to ya Ian.
Breaking News: I'm currently in the process of writing "I will not say and/or type "that word" 1,000 times.
I just want it to be known
that this is still annoying me
