Forward Prospect Statistics as of Mar. 28, 2010

St. Louis Game Time PROSPECT SUNDAYS

Forwards header

For the Blues' college prospects, the season is over. For the major junior prospects, the playoffs are under way. And for the minor pro prospects, the playoff race is expected to go right down to the wire.

In the ECHL, the Alaska Aces have four games left in the regular season, and hold a game in hand on both Utah and Victoria in the National Conference West Division. Alaska is 33-27-4-4 for 74 points in 68 games; Utah trails the Aces by one point, and Victoria by two, in the race for a playoff spot from that division.

In the American League, the Peoria Rivermen trail Milwaukee by five points, and can move to within three points today with a win over Houston in a 3:00 PM matinee game at Carver Arena. The Rivermen will travel to Milwaukee on Thursday in what is shaping up as one of the most important games of the season. Peoria's Adam Cracknell, a free-agent signing from the Calgary organization last summer, led all minor pro prospects with three goals in four games this week, and was a plus-6.

In major junior, Philip McRae moved into second place in the Ontario League playoff scoring race, three points in back of Toronto prospect Nazem Kadri, with a 4-4-8 scoring line in just three games this week for the Plymouth (MI) Whalers. McRae scored the series-winning goal, his sixth of the playoffs, for the Whalers on Friday as they eliminated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds four games to one.

Out West, Ian Schultz has taken over the goal-scoring lead for the Calgary Hitmen in the playoffs, tallying his fourth and fifth goals of the post-season last night as Calgary flattened Moose Jaw 7-3, to set up a Game Seven in their playoff series on Monday night at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Schultz has seven points in six games for Calgary, and teammate Tyler Shattock has six assists in six games to go along with a solid plus-5 mark.

Still loving

Shattock, McRae and Lehtera’s pt a game totals.
That entire season consistency is impressive at any level.

Don't forget Nigro...

He’s been a point-per-game guy all year, too… and was last year as well.

off topic

but i still like asking our prispect dept

who do you want in this group?

San Jose Logan Couture C Ottawa 67’s [OHL]
Florida Keaton Ellerby D Kamloops Blazers [WHL]
Carolina Brandon Sutter C Red Deer Rebels [WHL] 50 1 5 6 16
Mtl. Canadiens Ryan McDonagh D Cretin Derham Hall H.S. (Minn.)
St. Louis Lars Eller F Frolunda Jrs (Sweden)

and the reason why is fairly obvious :) since we dumped our “drop down bonus” for a guy we wont see in the note next year, and i had an irrational liking for ellerby, i’m wonder if eller still values the same as those we dropped down past.

I'll still take Eller over any of those guys...

…and of the defensemen listed, I preferred then — and still prefer — McDonagh to Ellerby.

Also, what makes you think “we won’t see (Eller) in the ’Note next year?” If Big Wallet retires as expected, and Mr. Checketts’ promised “busy off-season” means a trade or two, there will likely be at least one top-nine forward spot to fill, and Eller is the likely candidate for that spot.

Just my personal opinion. Do with it what you will.

:)

not eller, we gained a second in that drop, which we turned into aaron p which we converted into a 4th liner. the pickup we got from dropping down got converted into just about nothing,

not eller, if eller not here neext year you will have to pick someone else on that list to be the best selection :). next year is pretty much due date fora forward in that spot of the draft.

we DUmped our BONUS for a guy we wont see (d agostini)

Gotcha...

…and for the record, I didn’t like the Palushaj-D’Agostini tade when it was made, and I still don’t.

D’Agostini’s OK, I suppose, but I’d rather have Palushaj back.
