Blues Prospects "Trending Up" for the week ending Mar. 07, 2010

Compiled by Brian Weidler, "Game Time" Prospect Department

Trending Up header

"Game Time" PROSPECT SUNDAYS.

With a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 GAA, and a 95.6% save percentage in the last week, Jake Allen would normally be right at the top of the "Fab Five" list... but Allen has been so good, and so dominant, over the last month or so, that we at the Game Time Prospect Department have opted to forego his now-customary weekly selection to this feature, and give Jake The Snake his own spotlight. Look for that feature later today.

Don't worry, there are still five worthy candidates for selection to the list of prospects "Trending Up" this week, and one honorable mention as well. Tyson Strachan, despite being a few months beyond the "prospect age" cutoff of 25 years, is still a prospect in this organization, and he had a solid week with three assists and four PM in three games. Strachan has seen NHL time with the Blues this year, and should be right in the mix to win a full-time NHL job in next fall's training camp.

See the Game Time Fab Five for this week, after the jump...

So you mentioned

Cole could join the Rivermen this season and if the CHL season ends early for some of the blues prospects will join the Rivermen.
1) How much of the AHL season is left.
2) Who is likely to pay a visit to the AHL this season.
3) What happens to the people they replace.
4) When is Allen getting bumped up to thepeoria?

He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.

Petro seems to be here EVERY Sunday!

If doesn’t win the Calder, Norris, and Hart trophy next year I’ll be angry!

I actually think it MIGHT be T.J. Fast...

…but I’m about 90% sure it’s Pietrangelo.

Regardless, I’m going to go through my files and see if I can find a better one. I’m trying to use only photos that I’ve taken myself wherever possible, and the Development Camps are the only opportunity I get to take pictures of many of these guys, so…

ya, after looking at it some more

If that’s Pietrangelo, I’ll eat my hat.

I think it’s Fast.

And I wasn’t trying to be a dick by pointing that out, it just kinda jumped out at me as I scrolled down.

Petro, Karpo, Shultz, Allen...

Some of these guys are always on here, which is either really good for them or really bad for the rest of them. Can’t wait to read the piece on Jake, is this youngster the reason that despite all the speculation we didn’t see a deal for a young keeper at the deadline? He sure has been good & seems to have stepped up & has been playing even better since the WJCs. I’m a little worried about Cole & am hopping that this far-from-ideal season at ND will prompt him to just move to ThePeoria & not have a big head on the subject. I can’t wait for Cundari to get there so we can see what this young man really has. Didn’t realize so many would be eligible & heading there so soon, which is good- this pipeline’s construction needs to be heavily underway. Thanks again, Wieds-man, you set me up with my prospect “talking points” for the week when shootin’ the shit about our boys in Blue.

Solid report as always, B.

The Asylum doesn’t seem to know what we have in Petro. They just saw him fail twice on 9-game stints while he was under 20. Which is not uncommon. Bah, those bastards.

And frankly

he wasn’t all that bad in those 18 games, all things considered.

I think my next jersey will be a Petro – I saw his first NHL game in last season’s opening (and his first assist, I think) and his first goal in the Steve Fucking Ott Game!
