Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

Monday links: Win or go home edition

I'm not going to pretend I think the Blues can make the playoffs this season, but if the Note loses, they're done. It's win or go home time.

Blues news

Hockey news

  • The Blackhawks have clinched the division. The last time that happened, something awesome happened. [Chicago Sun-Times]
  • Steven Stamkos, who might just be my favorite young player in the NHL, was almost traded the Rangers because his owner is very, very dumb. [Raw Charge]
  • Habs fans wonder if the NHL has forgotten the team in the newest series of commercials. Here's a thought: No one cares about the Candiens in 2010. [Habs Eyes on the Prize]
  • Chris Pronger: Locker room cancer? [Broad Street Hockey]
  • R.J. Umberger is a member of the terrible Columbus Blue Jackets, so he knows bad hockey. He says the Washington Capitals play the game the wrong way. Hey Mr. Hamburger, worry about your own team and not about the team that has the most points in the NHL. [TSN]
  • From TSN: "Graham James, the junior coach convicted of sexually abusing his players in a case that rocked the hockey world from house leagues to the NHL, has been pardoned by the National Parole Board, The Canadian Press has learned." [TSN]

Other links

  • I always thought the only thing you could do with a marshmallow peep is bite the head off, but it turns out, you can make some art. [Urlesque]
  • KFC is making a bacon sandwich with two pieces of chicken as the bun. Read that sentence again. [Consumerist]
  • Fantasy worlds aren't all they're cracked up to be. [Cracked]

That's it for me. Let's go Blues. I'll see you again on Tuesday. Happy Opening Day as well. Feel free to chat about baseball here, I don't mind.

This is true

So instead of 68 wins we’ll get 70?

It's hard for me to lose faith in my team.

But by virtue of 4 losses to the Avs and the fact that they won yesterday . . . it’s looking insurmountable at this point.

Oh well. Maybe Carp can ass-rape the Reds today.

St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.

That KFC sandwich
Few things in life match the greatness of this sandwich. The birth of your first child, your wedding day, finding 20 bucks on the street. These are all great things, but this. This is something magical.

But if you find 20 bucks you can buy at least three of those sandwiches

And then you would drop dead but it might just be worth it

Is it still true that

this game isn’t televised??
I guess we’ll all be searching for a feed or listening to KMOX

Apparently.

That’s pretty dumb. It’s not even a Versus Tuesday/Wednesday thing. It’s just not picked up. Odd.

Watching the Cards game

since I’m off today.
Bottom of the 8th Cards up 6-4 but Reds with tying men on base.

If anyone is in the fantasy baseball league can tell me how to tell who is pitching/playing on any given day without going to each players site….
I need some pointers

is it a yahoo league?

if it is, it will have a carrot (^) next to the time to tell you if a player is starting. for pitchers, this is usually known days in advance. for hitters, hours.

And since I'm all sports all the time

Bulger was released by the Rams today.
I’m assuming Bradford will be the Rams #1 draft pick

See it live, or see it not at all

neither St Louis nor Columbus have a TV broadcast tonight. Thank God for radio!

We’ll all be in the same boat, tonight.

Well, fuckbeans.

You’d think that Center Ice’d have pity and broadcast the arena feed with the KMOX radio broadcast. They’ve done it before.
