I hope Walt can go out the same way. Kinda weird that the Ducks are the visiting team as both of them take their bows.

I caught part of the Dallas game last night
Mo got 3 minutes of standing o that brought him to tears. Awesome to witness.

Mason
The Blues would be a big bunch of idiots not to bring back Mason. What are you kidding me? We finally have for the first time in many years a bonafide #1 goaltender who is – OK not perfect, has an off-night here and there – but a freakin stud, a goalie we can count on. Not Brodeur but you can count on him and have confidence in him. Unlike Turek, Johnson, Brathwaite, Lalime…. you don’t wince and cringe every time the puck goes near him.

Well sometimes we wince
Not sure who else they’ll get to bridge the gap for a few years though.
There are some young goalies out there but will they be any better?
If we scored a few more goals those games he kept us in would be won.

Well, yes
Obviously you cannot expect a goalie to hold the opposition to two goals or less every damn night. We should have plenty of goals from the forwards we have. What I think we’ve been sorely lacking in since the days of MacInnis and Pronger is offensive production from the defense. And I’m not even talking about goals. Offense starts with the defense. We have lots of great defensemen but most of them are the stay-at-home type.

This has been linked a few times here

So Jax and Polak are the number 2 and 4 defenseman in the league
Yet if you posted that on the STLPD boards, we’d still have idiots complaining about it. Man, the hate towards our team that supposed “fans” have really annoys me.
Anyway, I’m going to be at the game tonight. It will be cool/sad to see big Walt in his last home game as a Blue. I’m going to predict there’s not a dry eye in the house during his retirement ceremony tonight.
I don’t know if I’m prophetic or not, but I had a dream last night where we raped the ducks like 10-1. Lets hope I am.

Loved the broomball article.
Sometimes the fraternities down here use it as a rush event. It’s awesome to watch drunk guys swat at a little ball on ice.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
wait who's doing links?
I’m on the other team mentioned in the article, the Bodkins.

the article ends like this:
If losing a broomball game had any consolation, it was summed up by Tim Wiemers, 22, of west St. Louis County.
“It sure makes the beer taste good.”
Nothing more true has been spoken:
Roman Polak is a beast. So is Barret Jackman.
Hear hear, Joe.
And define “meaningful”. The links are ALWAYS meaningful, in-season or off-season. Fa’reelz.

are the blues doing anything for walt for this game?
this line:
A press conference will be held on Tuesday, April 13 for the media and for Blues fans in the atrium at Scottrade Center at 12:30 p.m.
plus the blues site not having anything specific in motion listed for tonight makes me think anything they do tonight will be brief?!?
anyone heard anythign specific?

They are.
Following the game…
Big story: Keith Tkachuk announced earlier this week that he will hang up his skates at the end of the season. Since the Blues aren’t playoff-bound, that means the veteran power forward’s final home game will be Friday. The team will pay tribute to him afterward. Tkachuk is ninth on the team in scoring this season, with 13 goals and 30 points in 66 games.
From Here.
PC Load Letter? What the fuck does that mean?
thanks
th april 13th is from a different article on the blues site, i guess they will also do something then… or maybe they will announce him taking a job with the blues?!?!?
