Thursday links: I don't think Jaroslav Halak is going anywhere this offseason edition
How long before Jaroslav Halak gets a statue in Montreal? Has Carey Price packed his bags yet?
Blues news
- Bernie's take on the Towerbrook situation echos mine. I know investors leave all the time, but when its someone so large, you have to wonder who will step in and fill the void. Someone like Jim Balsillie could come to Dave Checketts with a huge amount of cash and force his hand — it's a down economy and Checketts can't just say no and he can't fund the team on his own. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]

The business behind the Towerbrook departure. [Forbes]
- Tyler Shattock signs with the Blues. He's 20 so I'm guessing this just means he'll be in the AHL with the Rivermen next year — wouldn't want to rush prospects or anything when you have guys like Brad Winchester on the roster. [Blues]
- T.J. Oshie scores, his team loses. I think I have heard that before. [Puck Daddy]
Hockey news
- Habs send the Pens packing. [TSN]
- The Canadiens won the first game ever played in the Igloo, and now the last. [Habs Eyes on the Prize]
- The Penguins are done. The fans start pointing fingers. [PensBurgh]
- After being down 3-0, the Flyers are tied 3-3 with the Bruins. These playoffs would have been good had teams I like been involved. [TSN]
- The Flyers are riding a backup goalie to glory. [Puck Daddy]
- The Islanders may moved to Queens. Or not. Watch the video just to hear Melrose say "Wang." [ESPN]
- Logan Couture gave the Sharks home ice. [TSN]
- Pardoned sex predator Graham James has been found in Mexico. I don't judge a book by its cover, but this dude looks like a stereotypical sex predator. [TSN]
-
TB/Brian/"The Prospect Guy" passes this along. Pretty cool. [WHL]
Other links
- Cozmcphish needs some help. And some votes. You all know what to do. Go the site and vote for Cranberry and Brie pizza by Jeff S. He's one of us — I doubt anyone else on the list is a reader of this site. [Ile de France Gourmet Cheese]
- Web sites that need to just go away. [The Oatmeal]
- This guy is way, way bitter about his divorce. It's pretty awesome. [My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress]
- Vandalizing Wikipedia is fun.[Manofest]

Maverides with today's video again. Language pretty dirty, but funny.

Could we make a deal for Carey Price????
I know some people think hes a head case but I think if you get him out of Montreal and let him know hes gonna start I think he would be fine…..At least better than Mason…..
And I think the deeper Montreal goes the cheaper Prices price(pun intended) gets……So hey…let Les Habitants win it all…then send us Price for a couple of draft picks and Brewbot……
I still maintain Vladimir Konstantinov got what he deserved...If you can't handle that then kiss my ass......
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
if we are gona take a chance on Price,
why not just throw in Allen or Bishop and let them show their stuff? Same chance, same possible great results, but even cheaper.

My thinking is .....
Go with Price if he comes cheap…that gives Bishop and Allen at least another 2 years to develop….we all know at least Allen needs that……if Price works out then great…if not then it doesnt look any worse than the whole Patrick Lalime debacle……this year Conklin would backup Price then bring up Bishop for year 2….that gives Allen time to develop…..
If it could work out this way I have no arguement and if Price plays decent then you have trade material to help buil the team as well later on…..

"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
As long as you don't have to make a deal with the Montreal fanbase...
…you’re all right.
Canadiens’ fans seem to think that Price is still worth your next five first-round picks, even though Halak has nailed Price to the end of the Montreal bench for the foreseeable future.

I’ll be the first to assume Cam Janssen is involved in the deal

No way
I hope we lock Janssen up long term to a 12 year, 10 million dollar cap bending deal.
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
Ownership
So, uh, what would it take to get that KHAAAAAN guy to become a hockey fan?
Lighthouse Hockey: Playing the NHL Lotto
Um... no.
No just “no,” but fuck no.
Unless you want to see that phoney-ass airheaded bimbo Caribou Barbie Sarah Palin dropping the puck at every home game.
Dave Checketts is borderline Tea Bagger Party as it is; the last thing we need is that horse’s ass Limbaugh getting involved.
I swear to God, I’ll start rooting for the Blackhawks if Rush Limbaugh buys so much as a season ticket’s worth of interest in the Blues. I love the Blues as much as one can love an institution, and have for forty-plus years… but I feel that strongly about making sure that not a dime of my hard-earned money goes into the pockets of that hatred-and-division-spewing asshole.

Fair enough.
Look, I hate the cocksucker as much as the next guy, but it’s like you said – Checketts is probably a raging Republican anyway, as are (I’m guessing) 99.9% of people rich enough to own sports teams. Everybody has to dance with the devil at some point. Is it ideal? No. Do I hope somebody else ponies up? Of course! But if it comes down to a) ownership involving Limbaugh in St. Louis; or b) ownership involving somebody else NOT in St. Louis…I’ll hold my nose and try not to think about it when I buy my tickets.
I love ya TB

way way way out in left field
the diatribes get old and tired. The goofs who stand on one side or the other and point the finger at the other side are the problem with this country. Sad.

Where’s that gotten us?

Those chicks are friggin' hilarious...
I’d like to party with ‘em, but they’d probably think my old-ass presence makes their little party take a turn for the douche… :D
