Why is it that while he was #44 and wearing the Note I adored Prongs and his contributions to the team (except for the nagging ability to take stupid penalties in the playoffs), but I absolutely despise #20 since he left STL?

I find him a perfect fit for the Flyers team—just another punk on a team full of them. My feelings are so strong I’m even finding myself—brace yourself—rooting for the Blackhawks.

Is that wrong?

I don’t like the Flyers, but I hate the Blackhawks with every bone in my body. To me I can root for guys like Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne, and the rest of the players on Philly that aren’t dirty and throw cheap shots. I will NEVER root for the Blackhawks. Can there be a worse Stanley Cup Finals? I hate Detroit and Vancouver too, but this could be the worst match up to root for someone

I despise the Blues’ fellow in conference rivals, too—but my hatred of the freaks, punks, and goons in Philly outweigh all that. That’s the depth of my Flyer hatred.

Given the choice between Toews and Richards, I’ll take a rusty nail in the eye…but that’s unfortunately not an option here.

I felt horrible about rooting for Philly...

… until I read this by Wysh. Honestly, he has a hell of a lot more reason to hate them than I do – I just hate them because I’ve always felt they were kind of dirty, and that whole 5 year win streak against the Thrashers kind pf pissed me off (screw you, Niitty). This year, ATL swept them and they got Laviolette in as coach, who I liked when he was in Carolina, and the team seems different. Not cuddly, mind you, but less likely to kill someone.

And Richards’ elbows notwithstanding, he’s starting to grow on me too.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky was in a production of The King and I? Well anyway, before the show, Brasky chloroforms the entire cast, and slowly eats them in front of the audience for two hours. The production got pretty good reviews.
