Have Some St. Louis Beer Tonight With SBN

As you may have seen in the ad on the side of the site for awhile, there's a get together tonight for all the St. Louis SB Nation St. Louis sites tonight at the Schlafly Tap Room, 2100 Locust St. in St. Louis.

That means if you happen to read Viva El Birdos or Turf Show Times, the fine folks that run those sites are getting together with us. Well at least me. I'll be there at the beginning at 6 p.m. There will be the Cardinals on TV. Some bloggy talk going on. Possibly some other people you may know from the Internet here...and other sites.

Plus they'll be talking about the new St. Louis SBN site. It just launched today (last night?). It doesn't have a lot of hockey content. Yet. But I promise I'll fix that.

So come out, have a few, have a good time. The Tap Room is a little more classy than Bobby's Place in Valley Park, so we'll try to behave. Promise. And I'll need at least one other person there to talk a few pucks with.

I love me some Schlafly Tap Room, but on a weeknight? C’mon . . . I only go to the S.T.L. to attend games and Meet ‘N’ Drinks. I got priorities, y’know?

There was (expensive) beer

-Some asshole responded to my intro of “Hi, I’m Tim and I write for St. Louis Game Time” with “What’s St. Louis Game Time?” Fuck him.

-CCR and I were the only ones that I saw as far as writers (or commenters) to show up. Wondertim powers activate!

-CCR’s lady is alright in my book

-I met a Brad Winchester fan (not named Brad Winchester) in a Sam Bradford jersey. He might’ve been the only one from Turf Show Times to show up. He also picked this past season as his first for season tickets. Ouch.

-The lady (Christy or whatever her name was) running the thing raffled off three t-shirts and gave away some bottle openers and some pens. Her only link to St. Louis was her distaste for Matt Holliday from his days in Oakland.

Shoulda stayed home instead.
