Blues news

  • Even with Jaroslav Halak in net, the Blues still expect big things out of Ben Bishop and Jake Allen. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
  • In case you've been living in a barren wasteland, like Detroit, you might not have known that the Blues are fond of young d-men. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
  • The Jaro Halak deal stole headlines, but Norm Sanders covers the under-the-radar moves the Blues made last week. [Belleville News-Democrat]
  • There isn't much news in this article about the Blues, but I really enjoy reading about the Blues young highly-touted defenseman Alex Johnson. [Montreal Gazette]
  • The good Drfrankentweed passes along this article about Brad Boyes. Apparently, the soon-to-be-married Blues forward thought he might have been going to Montreal for Halak. [CBC]

Hockey news

  • Mike Modano may not retire after all. This is not making some Stars fans happy. [Defending Big D]
  • Vice President Joe Biden says he's a Flyers fan because his wife, Dr. Jill Biden is a Flyers fan and he doesn't want to sleep alone.[Broad Street Hockey]
  • Dominik takes a look at the NHL draft and talks about something the no one knows about — not fans, not GMs and not scouts. [Lighthouse Hockey]
  • The Penguins may trade Sergei Gonchar's negotiating rights. [TSN]
  • Taylor Pyatt is staying in the desert. [TSN]
  • The Hockey Hall of Fame is announcing the new class today. [TSN]
  • Jason Spezza is not like Dany Heatley in that he's not demanding a trade out of Ottawa. However, he is like Heatley in that he wants the heck out of town. [TSN]
  • Last year it was Patrick Kane on the cover, this season it's going to be Jonathan Toews. Looks like i'm going to keep playing NHL 09. Hey EA, there are 30 teams in the league. [ESPN]

Other links

  • A website devoted to counting the dead bodies in movies. Very thorough. [Body Counters]
  • Once you see these things — like robot Bull logo — you can't unseen them. [Cannot Unseen]
  • Imagining what today's technology — like cell phones and iPods — what would like had it been invented in 1977. [Behance]

Video

I can, and will, watch this all day.

Is that some weird hybrid player?

Are we gene splicing and not telling anyone about it?

Thrashing the Blues

Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?

Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.

what a pathetic article

someone didn’t do their homework.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky was in a production of The King and I? Well anyway, before the show, Brasky chloroforms the entire cast, and slowly eats them in front of the audience for two hours. The production got pretty good reviews.

I want an ALT/1977.

St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.

WTF EA!

I know its completely inconsequential, but are they setting a precedent that the captain of the winning team or perhaps the MVP gets the cover of NHL? This is a little ridiculous. Has a team ever had the cover for two years in a row?

I was honestly hoping that Miller got the cover this year.

seriously

Miller was a complete stud all the way through the regular season, and he was inhuman during the olympics. why isnt HE on the cover?

Paul Kariya's hips don't lie and he's starting to feel it's right.

I concur....

Miller without a doubt should be the cover player, well at least here in the States.

I dunno

Olympic gold,
Stanley cup
Olympic MVP

They hit their millionth page view, go congratulate them and wish them a miserable firey ruin. Dirk Hoag, one step to the left and you have Dirk Huge-Pornstar name: one step to the right and you have Dirk Hogey-Also pornstar name.

He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
