Jay McClement: #16 in your Selke voting, #1 in your defensive-minded hearts
Also, Alex Steen and David Backes impressed at least one writer.

Just in case I chopped off too much with the paint job,
Jay had 2 1st place votes to go with 4 4th place votes and 5 5th place votes.
Steen had 1 2nd place vote while Backes got a single 4th place vote.
No beer and no TV make Homer...something something.

Atta boy JR
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
Well, we were nothing if not solid on the forecheck this year.
It makes sense that we got votes. Had we been Chicago, we’d have . . . oh, I dunno . . . 6 players in the top 60 in votes.
Here’s hoping Silent Jay gets mucho praise next year around this time for the Selke. Which would mean that we’re a better team.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.

14 of the 15 players above Jay...
… played for a team that made the playoffs.
Better team, better finish, and Jay gets a lot more votes.

Furthering both our arguments...
… Silent Jay was the only non-playoff player to garner first-place votes.
Last December when the team was sucking...again,
I proposed a McClement for Selke campaign. And then I got busy, the Blues fired their coach and started winning a little and things kind of changed.
Well I’m calling it right now, we’re doing it for next season. If we don’t, give me crap. More than usual.

100% Behind This
Guy isn’t a star-player, but he comes out every night, does his job, and plays smart hockey. Centerpiece of the penalty kill, and star of the Steen McBeen shut-down line. He and Boyes are the only two players that have put up 80+ games in the past three seasons. Jay needs a Selke.
Its not like its worth making a signature about
