Sunday Links: So long, and thanks for all the picks Edition
Well, Jarmo, it's been a helluva run. Hopefully we'll be talking about your last draft and remembering your final picks with much fondness.
You'll always have a place for your thoughts at Game Time, Jarmo. That's assuming that underground, fan distributed hockey papers are your thing.
Blues News:
- Jaden Schwartz is motivated by his sister's struggle with cancer.
- Prospect David Warsofsky has been dealt to Boston for Vladimir Sobotka. Stanley Cup of Chowder has their say.
NHL News:
- Puck Daddy guesstimates the winners and losers from the draft.
- Marc Savard: Potentially coming to a canadian team near you.
- The LA Kings appear set to make an offer to Kovalchuk if he hits the open market. That and more rumor summaries on Pierre LeBrun's blog.
- Evgeni Nabokov has reportedly had his rights dealt to Philly for a conditional 7th rounder. More on this as it develops.
- San Jose doesn't seem too keen on letting their potential FAs hit the market.
- Toronto spun the trade wheels to earn some picks. Nothing involved Tomas Kaberle. Also, Facebook told me Steve Dangle got hit with a drive by roman candle. That's turrible, as Charles Barkley might put it.
Other Stuff:
- Well, that's one way to own a bar.
- Guns don't actually work like they do in movies.
- Gift considers this impressive. I do, too, even if no one should give this big of a shit about fishing.
Video:
Chris Gift has your update on national security.
Thank God for Robert DeNiro. I feel safer already.
Prospect Sundays will have tons of shit concerning the Blues picks over the past couple of days.
Averagejoe will take the reins for the weekday links as he tends to do. Help him out at gametimelinks (at) gmail.com

The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything...
… is Future Captain David Backes.
Stanley Cup of Chowder is PISSED about that trade.
Awesome.

I'm pretty sure almost every fanbase is pissed about trading a player on the team for a prospect

…and only DiNiro could pull it off with a straight face, and look dead serious about it.

Puck Daddy listed Taylor Hall as a winner eh...
Personally I thought Seguin was the winner. Going as a #2 overall pick but getting to play for one of the better teams in the league already on a roster competing for the playoffs yearly verse heading to the New York Islanders? I’d take going #2 in that situation every time.
I thought not looking goofy as hell was Seguins real consolation prize.

Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
Taylor Hall and Mister Ed...
Separated at birth?

Taylor Hall
Actually, I figured he’s what you get if John Elway & Octomom got together (if her uterus hasn’t fallen out yet).
Married men should forget their mistakes. Why should 2 people remember the same thing?
Mind bleach, please.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky was in a production of The King and I? Well anyway, before the show, Brasky chloroforms the entire cast, and slowly eats them in front of the audience for two hours. The production got pretty good reviews.
