bold predictions
Chicago will finish 6th after letting everyone go and the Blues will win the division after Backes, Boyes, Mcdonald all bounce back, the young guys take the next step with oshie scoring 70 points, and Halak will finish in the top 5 for the Vezina. The Blues beat the Hawks 4-2 in the first round of the playoffs. We take the division back after Detroit gets older and older and Chicago has the one and only Marty Turco in net (LOL).
Nashville or STL take the divison.
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
I'm hoping they proving me wrong. No no, in a good way...
Blues finish 6th or 7th in the conference, 2 rounds deep, defeating the Sharks in the first round, and losing to the ever present Canucks. Perron will have a 60 point season. Six players with 50 + points, Perron, Backes, McDonald, Steen, Boyes, and Johnson.
I love hockey.
BOLD PREDICTIONS!
- Chicago will be one of several teams to win the Stanley Cup one year, only to miss the playoffs the next. Can’t remember the last team to have done that, but I thought it was Carolina.
- Dustin Byfuglien will spend about 5 minutes as a defenseman, before the Thrashers are all like “What in the BLUE FUCK are we doing?!” and move him back to a wing.
- The Blues will not win the division, but will be the biggest pain in the asses of each opponent they play – especially within the division. They will make the playoffs, but it won’t be pretty, and the draw will be terrible.
- Washington will finally figure out what it REALLY takes for them to get deep into the playoffs, and it’ll be a two-part process . . . 1) Not having to play the Penguins in rounds one or two, and 2) No Halak. They will make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.
- Whoever wins the Western Conference Finals, however, will be the team hoisting the Cup. Who is that team? Fuck if I know.
- Mike Keenan will perish after contracting a urinary tract infection and catching his house ablaze while missing the toilet in his bathroom. It hits a candle.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
Mike Keenan will perish after contracting a urinary tract infection and catching his house ablaze while missing the toilet in his bathroom. It hits a candle.

I predict:
The central division will be an extremely evenly matched one this year. The Hawks will still be competitive, but not the powerhouse they were last year, The Wings will also remain competitive for another season or two, but will be steadily going down over the next few seasons, The Preds and Blues will both take steps to being the top two in the division, whether they get there next year remains to be seen, Columbus could be a major upset, but not likely.
My prediction for the central:
1. Red Wings
2. Predators
3. Blues
4. Blackhawks
5. Blue Jackets
Pretty sure about where Columbus will be, but the other 4 are pretty much a toss up, and all 4 will make the playoffs.
Cam Janssen becomes known as "The Spanish Inquisition"
after he launches 2 game-winning goals this year. Nobody expected it at all.
Then he went out and flattened Carey Price just for fun.

Optimism FTW!!!
Blues finish third in division, 6th in conference, draw NW Division Winner (likely Colorado or Calgary) in first round.
Blues win first round, take second-round series to seven games, one of the last five teams playing.
Halak is a Vezna nominee, McClement finally gets his due as a Selke nominee. Neither win. Coach Payne gets talked up as possible CoY nominee, but Eastern-centric media snubs him to slobber on knobs of Washington, Pittsburgh, and Detroit coaching staff.
Boyes and Perron both score 30 goals. Seven Blues hit 50 point mark — Perron, Boyes, McDonald, Steen, Backes, Oshie, Berglund — all seven score (or approach) 20 goals. Pietrangelo leads Blues’ defensemen in scoring, but gets bypassed as a Calder nominee.
Jake Allen wows ’em in Peoria, makes AHL All-Star Game as a rookie. McRae and Cundari also have stellar rookie years. Drazenovic has the breakout year he started on last season, finishing with 30 goals anf 70 points to lead the team in scoring. Chris Porter and Graham Mink establish themselves as the leaders on the Rivermen, and the team wins the AHL Central.
