Thursday links: Too many Armstrongs in the front office edition
Nothing interesting to say here, so stop reading and move on to the links.
Blues news
- Bill Armstrong, no relation to Doug Armstrong, is the new Blues Director of Scouting. Bill Armstrong? Way easier to type than Jarmo Kekalainen. [Blues]
- JR be chatting at 1 p.m. today. [JR Live]
Hockey news
- Habs Eyes isn't a fan of vanity numbers, just like our boss Mr. Gallagher. Must be a blogger thing. [Habs Eyes on the Prize]
- If you're gonna play hockey, protect your junk. It's a simple concept. [Puck Daddy]
- The Flames and Canadiens are going to meet up in the Canadian Winter Classic aka the Heritage Classic. [TSN]
- Darren Helm is staying in Detroit. Poor, poor, Darren. [TSN]
- The Ilya Kovalchuk thing is still going on. [ESPN]
Other links
- Nerdy: Twelve events that will change everything. Pretty cool. [Scientific American]
- A blog devoted photoshops of people dating themselves. Creepy and funny. I knew a couple in college, not going to name any names, that wouldn't have needed photoshop to appear on this blog. [I'm Dating Myself]
- Some people can't park. Like my sister, but she's not on this list. Yet. [theTHROTTLE]
- As anyone who has read Puck Daddy knows, Yahoo! commentors are the best/worst thing on the internet. [ComicsAlliance]
- Animals playing sports? Animals playing sports. [Total Pro Sports]

Darren Helm is a stupid fucker.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
He was RFA, but nobody gave him an offer sheet.
I really thought someone was going to try to poach him, but nobody made the effort.
Bill Armstrong is a good choice for the position...
He’s been the Blues’ Northeast Scout for a while; he’s the guy who found David Perron.
Mike Antonovich (Minnesota Scout) might have been a bigger name, but Armstrong will be fine.

Regarding the video
Anyone else think of Mallrats when seeing it? “Fly fatass fly!”
Baltimore Blast - 6-time MISL/NISL Champions
Let's go Blues!

OK, am I the only one who thinks she looks like the cow being chucked over the castle wall by the catapult in Monty Python’s Holy Grail ??
I fucking spit milk through my nose when I read that.
Just a chew toy for the hockey gods
For anyone else reading the JR Chat,
who saw this?
Please give your comments on these forward line combinations (LW C RW):
1. Backes McDonald Perron
2. Berglund Oshie Boyes
3. Winchester Steen Crombeen
4. D’Agostini Sobotka Andranov (3rd round pick 2 years ago)
Reserve: Janssen McClement
I would really, really like to see someone give the Asylum a franchise and see what they do with it.
hopefully
he tore them a new asshole
Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky was in a production of The King and I? Well anyway, before the show, Brasky chloroforms the entire cast, and slowly eats them in front of the audience for two hours. The production got pretty good reviews.

Oy...
I like the idea of Andronov making the team, though. It’d be nice if he was in training camp, but since the Russian season starts early, that’s not likely for this year…

Isn’t this the premise behind the last 30 years of the Maple Leafs’ front office?
You mean The "Couldn't Find Their Ass With Both Hands" Club...

Those "retro" Flames' sweaters aren't half-bad...
I’m a fan of bands (stripes) on the sweaters, for some reason.

I think it was on Puck Daddy or Habs Eyes on the Prize...
Someone said that the Canadiens should have gone with the barber-pole sweaters again for the Winter Classic if only to make hi-def TV viewers scream and clutch their eyes while watching the game. I just worry about the day that the Canadian teams have some kind of tournament to honor Don Cherry. It’d be Bob Uecker Night all over again.
