basking in the glow: your game day highlights
Please, please, please tell me that Minnesota is a good team and that our Blues are just way, way better.
Shhhh.
What I actually mean, Mr. Knowledgeable, is that I need you to shut up about the re-building Wild and just nod and tell me that, Yes, yes, the Blues are freaking awesome.
Judging by these highlights I should have skipped the family committments and kept my tickets and headed down to the rink tonight.
Next game is tomorrow in Dallas. Can the Blues keep the offensive streak going?

Ill give you what you wanted
The last 3 years I have been basking in the glow of the Minnesota Wild her in Minneapolis and throughout the years they have put together a pretty solid hockey team, and by going off of what I just saw in your 1 min 10 sec video replay there, which might I add was very helpful, I looked to me like everything was flowing like Penguins of two years ago, yes that good, if you looked at the detailed puck movement and the tape to tape passes the scoring opportunities come time and time again. I was going to say that in the past consistency may be a problem, but to me it doesnt look like it will if day in day out the team plays like this.
Im happy for the Blues at this point, I give them credit.

David Perron
Had two goals probably a combined 2 feet from the goal line. Love that he’s going to the net, Walt style.

Here's some more
Cap’n Shiney stood up/er/fell down for a team-mate. Escalator still (er… once again) carries loafers up at the speed of snail shit, and some of the folks still get all giddy abooot games what don’t matter.
Most importantly, I WANT MY GAME TIME!
And I want it to Mean Something!!!
Yeah, I stayed late at the parents' house to watch the Blues game.
Watching Eric Brewer get dropped to the ice, Dad said “Wait, aren’t captains supposed to be guys who don’t fall over easily?” Actually, Dad wasn’t too keen on Brewer at all, and he’s not as keen of a hockey fan as most folks here.

Alex Steen was amazing. I’m used to watching the Capitals more than the Blues, so I didn’t know too much who to look for. Steen just glided around, made smart plays and had a nice shot. Totally a fan of his now. Perron was damn good too.
I actually ended up in section 113 because I was too fucked up thanks to exams and bought tickets to the 21st gave vs the Avs, not the Wild. Ooops. But I ran into some nice blues fans who gave me three (I was with two other people) for $10 each, so thanks random people out there.
What a great game. If only the W actually counted. Still, good to have hockey back.

Brewer executed the "RoboCop" program pretty darn well last night, I thought...
The rookie punk that steamrolled Strachan was yapping, and Brewer went right at him. That impressed me.
Frenchie is Le Homme… we haven’t had a decent French-Canadian player on this team since Pierre Turgeon, and I’m pretty happy that we’ve got one now.
Sonne is making a pretrty good case to surivive the first cuts for Peoria, too,
