Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Because I still have a soft spot for Yan Stastny

It might be that he still uses an all-wooden stick. It could be his connection  to the city, it could be his style of play. I'm not sure, but I wish him the best of luck playing for CSKA Moscow.

There was a little interview with him from the Russian SPORT network, who owns the TV rights to the K.

Yan Stastny: KHL - League of the future!

. CSKA Moscow forward Yan Stastny after the victory over Spartak in the Game "Mayor's Cup" (4:3 b) spoke about his goal for the great red-white and moving to the KHL.

This victory has given us a huge charge of positive energy before the start of the season - replies Stastny - On the other hand, this match has given us food for thought - we have enough bugs that must be corrected.

Do you know how important your victory over Spartak was for your team?

Of course, so it was great to feel the atmosphere of the game. And I was doubly pleased to be there to score,  I'm not denying - I was a little bit lucky.

Have you managed to adapt to CSKA?

I have to learn the language. But I am satisfied with everything here, and I am ready to help the team find success this season.

You played for a long time for St. Louis.  How do you then find the level of CSKA and the KHL in general?

Good level. Before moving to Russia, I talk to people and the players here, so knew what I was going for.  KHL - the future of this league is great, so I'm happy come here.

My nephew played a yr with Yan at Chaminade. He always had good things to say about him. It seems the family is a class act.
