Monday links: Labor Day open thread
I still have to do my Clark Kent job today. So unlike the rest of the world, I'll be at work today. But that doesn't mean I'm going to do the links
Since all you desk monkeys won't at your desk and nothing is going on, we're having an open thread.
Today's topic: What's your favorite holiday? I gotta go with Thanksgiving. Family, food, football? Can't beat that.
What's that? Did you say holidays? (Hat tip to NatetheGreat)
Real links will be back tomorrow. Maybe.

"So unlike the rest of the world, I'll be at work today..."
Only the rest of America. Most of the world still works today.
My birthdays on or near thanksgiving and I just found out the day before thanksgiving is a major drinking holiday. Greatest holiday ever.
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Just because Jay McClement is the best defensive forward in the NHL doesn't mean he should win the Selke.
oktoberfest
i like it cos we go to hermann and i hate it. too much confined space with too manty drunks, i’d leave they drunks behind i suppose except they are my ride. and not only is oktoberfest german and drinking, and polka.
you can start this week in ky! so it is apparently a 7 week drink-a-thon.

4th of July
Grilled meat of every species imaginable, girls in skimpy outfits due to the heat, as much booze as your gut can hold, and way WAY too many explosives. It’s the only holiday where you get more cred for being as obnoxious as possible (except maybe Halloweeen, which coincidentally is my 2nd-fave holiday).
The 4th is the perfect holiday.

Turkey-fest. (Or Thanksgiving. Whatever.)
Christmas is fun. The 4th of July is pretty cool. Labor Day and Memorial Day are OK as well. But Thanksgiving fucking rules. As Joe said . . . . Turkey. Football. Family. And might I add . . . Beer. Best holiday ever.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
I love the entire
Christmas season. I turn the Christmas lights on Thanksgiving night to begin the month long holiday.
Mr Depends and I celebrate (it’s still a celebration) our anniversary during this time.
Both our boys were born the last week of November (yeah I didn’t really do that right).
Any day that snows is a holiday. I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!!!!

I’m apparently one of those too…
Sometimes, I wonder why hockey came south of St. Louis, and then I realize, I'm south of St. Louis. Coincidence, I think not.
Forgot the shout out for fave holiday
Used to be the 4rth of July for asploding stuff but the gendarmes kind of frown on that shit now. Using calcium carbide to sail those old metal trash cans half way down the block at parties was kewl as shit.
I gotta go with Oktoberfest like CT. 2 weeks of jagerschnitzels, beer steins, frikadellens and low hung blouses.

Just a chew toy for the hockey gods
it has been a LONG summer

Maybe EJ was laughing at his swing when he had his cart accident.
