Blues Viewing Party at Cousin Hugo's in Maplewood This Saturday
I heard a hockey season started recently. Can anyone confirm this for me? Yes? No? Whatever. We all know . . . it has arrived. BOO-YAH, HOMEY!
The St. Louis Blues have taken their first road trip of the season, swinging out west for a couple tilts with California clubs. Saturday, The Note stops in the Bay Area to square off with the San Jose Sharks at HP Pavilion. The game will start at about 9pm, and with that in mind, a gathering has been put together for some of us idiots to get together, drink, eat, swear and generally be jackasses around each other while watching the game on the tube. JUMP, TOWEL BOY!
We've had gatherings before at Cousin Hugo's Bar & Grill on Laclede Station Road in Maplewood for hockey games, but never have we had one there for a Blues game . . . at least, not to my knowledge. This Saturday night, that changes.
The plan is to get to the place somewhere around 8pm. The game starts at 9pm. If you want to take a look at what Cousin Hugo's has to offer before heading there, including a menu and beverage selection, visit their website here. I've been there twice, and let me tell you . . . the beer is cold, the food is good and the atmosphere is very conducive to a crowd like ours. St. Louis Game Time's own CrossCheckRaise frequents Cousin Hugo's for lunch, and he has not steered many of us wrong before.
So come, join us, have a few brews, have a late dinner, watch the Blues hopefully shred the Sharks, and bring all seven words George Carlin told us about. Oh, and this isn't like Game Time, but . . . go ahead and tell others about it, if you wish. But don't bring any Red Wings fans if you don't have to, because Fuck Detroit.
LET'S GO BLUES!

Cousin Hugo's is a great place
When we were there for the Stanley Cup finals, the waitress told me the next day at lunch “That was a great crowd you brought – they were having fun like they were AT a hockey game”
I’ll be there, for sure.

Do we have enough stickers that say: "HELLO! MY NAME IS:"?

I'm nowhere near this event, but I'd like to chime in
