Game Day Thread (sort of): Peoria at Texas, Oct. 27, 2011
Rivermen lead 2-0 after one period in Austin vs. the Texas Stars.
They're two-thirds of the way to a "Brett Trick," as Brett Sonne and Brett Sterling have the goals. If rookie Brett Ponich can find the back of the net...
Ben Bishop gets the start again.
Updates here as circumstances warrant.

Sterling rocked from behind face-first into the glass...
No call.
Sterling’s OK, but that sounded like a pretty lousy non-call.

...and Fairchild gets whistled for some ticky-tack hook about two minutes later.
Tonight’s ref, Curtis Marouelli… not sure if it’s Dan Marouelli’s kid or not, but probably.

Texas gets a goal with no time on the clock in the second.

Gonna go see two Rivs games in November, one in Peoria, one in Rockford.
I’ll be sure to say high to Bradley University and Cheap Trick, if I get the chance.
So thus, I pay a bit more attention to these things now. Not that I wasn’t previously but . . .
Anyway. Good on the lads to win tonight.

And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
