answers
1. True. Eric Brewer’s 95 points, and Erik Johnson’s 91 points put them firmly in the top 20 of Blues defensemen. Carlo Colaiacovo’s 80 points has him in 19th place.
2. False. In 1994 Stephane Roy was the Blues first pick when they took him 68th overall in the third round Mike Posavad was also picked up with a third round pick however in 1982 that made him 50th overall.
3. True. it only took 30 years but in 2010 “We have recommended banning using misappropriated government
information to trade in the commodity markets. In the movie Trading Places, starring Eddie Murphy, the Duke brothers
intended to profit from trades in frozen concentrated orange juice futures contracts using an illicitly obtained and not
yet public Department of Agriculture orange crop report” So now if you, Murphy, or the Duke boys do it, there might
actually be a law broken.
4. Doug Gilmour’s 1474 game NHL career started when the Blues drafted him in the 7th round in 1982.
5. Backes was already playing in the AHL and in his 20’s by the time Cole, Kane, Johnson, McRae, Van Riemsdyk and
others were playing together on baby Team U.S.A.
6. Avery Brooks was in charge of Deep Space Nine and was never Commander of an Enterprise named vessel. 7th Heaven’s Stephen Collins played Captain Decker in the first movie. Kirk would replace him almost immediately. Hunter was the pilot version’s captain who was replaced by Kirk immediately for the series, Ronny Cox would take over command of Picard’s ship when Captain Picard was given an undercover mission. Kirk couldnt be found for that episode I guess.
7. Last season the Blues were 0-1 in penalty shot against situations. Some guy named Chris Stewart beat Ty Conklin who had replaced Chris Mason in the game. It completed Stewart’s first-ever NHL hattrick.
8 The Blues 1st round pick in 1999, Barret Jackman has 503 games in the Note, and the Blues 1993 4th rounder Jamal Mayers leads active Blues draft picks with 595 Blues games. After Jay, in 4th place, would be David Backes and his 339 games.
9. Brian Benning would score a career high 49 points during his 1987 rookie campaign.
10. Jef Beukeboom coached former Blues properties David Lynch and Jeff Woywitka as well as current Blue Brad Winchester.
