Does this really bother you like it does me?
I read this article about some NoDak kid and I just think it OOZES Oshie. The shit like: "I think the biggest thing was probably the class that I came in with. We're all so close and if you had an opportunity to have another year and a half or two years with them you might as well take it before you go to be professional."
And he's also a shit-stirrer with legal run-ins, etc. -- just seems to be a LOT like T.J. It's time to get over your alma mater, boys. You don't see Alex Pietrangelo hanging out talking about how awesome his juniors teams were. That, I think, is the difference between US college hockey and Canada's juniors. I just can't take U.S. college hockey seriously anymore. The Hobey Baker award is supposed to go to the best college hockey player, and yet the only REALLY good player to win it in the past decade is Ryan Miller. I dunno.
Thoughts?

Jonathan Toews is looking more and more like the exception to the rule at NoDak.
Then again, he lives up to the Captain Serious nickname. I think a lot of the guys in juniors tend to get their heads screwed on straight early because the juniors system is a lot more like a trade apprenticeship than the college system. It’s your job. Even the USHL and NAHL players take their jobs seriously even though they still have amateur status. For them, they get three choices: earn a college scholarship through playing, get into major juniors or a minor-league contract, or go out into the real world with more full-time work experience than your average 20-year old.
Let's Go Blues!
Support your local NAHL team. Seriously.
