Reason # 155 Why Cam Janssen was popular with the home crowd
It's no secret that Cam was popular while with the Blues, and for many reasons... Not the least of which was that he was so fan-friendly. He demonstrated that again, tonight, at the Blues Caravan tour stop at the Hot Shots in O'fallon, IL. He was a good sport and signed a little kids book that features a character named "Cam Jansen". This is part of a larger series, but I'd never heard of it until a buddy of mine found a copy while cleaning out some stuff from his parent's place. I've been meaning to get this signed over the past few years, but never did. Now that Cam is leaving us, I had to give it a try....

It looks like you were successful
He signed my Blues lunchbox last year during the caravan tour stop at Bobby’s.
I’d love to see him come back after hockey and get in the media somehow (Twister’s spot maybe)

Agreed
And hopefully stay in the St. Louis area during the next few summers.. I’m hoping to make it out to the 100 inning softball game to see him and a couple other guys.

Looking at that book, I'd guess it was printed in the 1970s.
Thus it may have been a prophecy of how a man from St. Louis would turn the city from a drinking town with a baseball problem to a drinking town with a hockey problem. See? The stolen diamonds thing… it’s just a symbol of the Blues getting a Stanley Cup soon and eclipsing the Cardinals for a time. At any point in the book does Cam return to New Jersey to deal with Satan on his own turf?

Wait...
Cam Jansen is a chick?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that… I just have a new-found respect for his her pugilistic skills.
Does that mean that it's not a man-crush when Cam's involved?
I’m so confused right now.

And I got a picture.
Yes, the fist HAD to be in the upright position.

One other question that is also very important:
Did any SLGTer win the 10-game ticket pack at the radio show last night?

Well, crap.
I’m still ticked off I decided to mow the lawn last night instead of drive to O’Fallon. That’s the only downside to having a house: it takes up your time at the most inconvenient moments.

nice guy
I got him to sign a beer can for me at a concert he was bartending at last year. You should have seen his face when I walked up and asked “hey man, can you sign my beer?”
