He hasn't started skating or working out yet.

According to Armstrong, per the P-D article.

The fact that he’s been cleared to rejoin the team means that he’s ready to start getting back in shape. But we’re probably looking at a couple months before he’ll be game-ready, or longer if he has the lingering issues that Crosby and Staal have apparently had.

What's a "Perron"?

When does Crosby get back?

No beer and no TV make Homer...something something.

Not to be Debbie Downer but ...

While this is great news, it by no means is a sign that he’s coming back soon. Crosby was given clearance to practice/skate and had a setback. Perron still has a lot of working out to do to get back into game shape—and all that working out could trigger more symptoms. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts his comeback in Peoria.

That said, this is still the best news we’ve heard since the hit.

Perron isn't a pussy like Crosby

I know it's a popular thing to call Crosby a "pussy", but...

I respectfully disagree. The list of point-per-game (plus) scorers who would don the jersey with a broken foot because it’s playoff time is pretty short in my hockey lifetime. They just don’t make players with that combination of toughness and talent.

That having been said, this is the best hockey-related news that I’ve heard since Vancouver duffed the finals. I miss seeing #57 out there. Kid’s a beaut.

I started skating before I could speak English, yet here I am among the rest of you. Fuck.

You know what would be fucking awesome?

If Perron really was ready earlier on in the summer, he’s just been faking and getting ready for the season behind the scenes. he actually is game ready, he just wanted to make a big entrance right before the season starts and make the rest of the central division shit their pants. Lol,

Cautious optimism is still called for, of course, but finally hearing some positive news on DP is worth a bit of celebration.

Thank God.

I know this will be a while for him to rehab and all that, but this is GREAT news. I can’t wait to hear the interviews tomorrow.

At the earliest, he'll be ready in November, I would assume.

But fuck it, I don’t care.
