SBN hockey writer and college hockey media guy Bruce Ciskie (of 94X, a radio station we hope calls itself "The X!" or "The X-Factor!") conducted a poll about the WCHA with various media who cover those school. The results? Well, I'll leave that for someone who knows something about college hockey to argue about. But there was one award I did like seeing:
Jaden Schwartz, second in voting as Preseason Player of the Year.
Also of interest, the media think Jaden's team, Colorado College, will finish second in the division, clearly based on the Blues' prospect's awesomeness. Jaden's coach was also selected as likely Coach of the Year, clearly because he is smart enough to coach Schwartz and tell him, "Go get us some points, son."
Like most Blues fans, I can't wait for Vladimir Tarasenko to get here. But having seen Schwartz in his regional Frozen Four qualifier game here in St. Louis, I'm pretty excited to see him pull on a Bluenote, too.
