BREAKING: Blues To Announce Captains Tomorrow At 10:00 AM
Per a tweet from the team's official Twitter feed (link to come when I'm on a computer where Twitter isn't blocked), the team will be announcing the captains for the 2011-2012 season tomorrow at 10:00. Davis Payne and Doug Armstrong will make a joint announcement.
I suppose we can start a betting pool. What're the odds on David Backes? 2:1? My money'd be on him, though Sir Jaxx wouldn't upset me at all.

Sorry about that!
Your headline was funnier, though.
Thrashing the Blues - No, I'm not re-naming it.
SB Nation St. Louis
St. Louis Game Time - We turn the F bomb into an art form.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
All good! At least somebody's on top of it!
Also, I saw your article on ESPN at TtB after I did the links this morning from a GTer retweet. I couldn’t agree more.
Kent Huskins cares. Do you?
Thank you.
I don’t mean to come across like I care more about the ESPN shitty coverage than the crash, because I don’t – but the horrible coverage by the World Wide Leader is just terrible and it’s so disrespectful it’s amazing.

The World Wide Leader...
…in pimping the NBA and and shilling for the NFL (and the NFL’s farm teams in Division I), with college “hoops” third, MLB a poor fourth and the NHL, and hockey in general, nowhere on their friggin’ radar.

If Jamie Langenbrunner isn’t named Captain (or an alternate), you guys should be safe.

I don't want Captain Pissypants named captain of anything...
… but maybe the locker room kleenex box.

I get Kevin's disparagement of Langenbrunner, though I think it's misplaced...
…but, Ms. Hildy, what’s your beef with Langenbrunner?

Here's my guess
Backes as Captain.
Jackman, Petro, and Steen get the A’s.
Any sort of bet we want to place on this? I’ll send a box of crayons personally signed by me, to whoever gets all the C’s and A’s right. (Provided it’s not me)
Barret Jackman is my hero.

Seems like a good guess to me..
I think Backes will get the C, and Jackman one of the A’s. Another two A’s will go to two of {Steen, McDonald, Petro, Arnott, Langie}
I’ll go with:
C: Backes
A’s: Jackman, Steen, McDonald.
C: Backes
A’s Petro, Jax, Steen
going through the handshake line at my game the other night, guy says youre still a prick Evan...me: yep sure am next time stop me from scoring
I was thinking they'd go with a C and four As...
… but then again, that’s just kind of A overload to me, not that there aren’t a ton of guys who deserve the recognition.

should be Backes
if its Jax we know the blues plan to keep him til he retires

Steen as my darkhorse canidate
Though if its not Jackman or Backes id be surprised.
He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Aren't you that guy who hates the blues?
didnt see the tweet
and this listing says “captains” plural so dont be shocked with excessive a’s and no c again, unless they tweeted a singular i’d bet on no captain and even odds :)

I'll say they do what they did last year....
One C, 2 A’s for home games, 2 other A’s for road games:
The C will go to Backes(runner up: Steen)
A’s will go to Mcdonald, Jackman, Pietrangelo, and Steen(runners up: Langenbrunner, Arnott, Stewart)
I don't think I want Jax as captain.
The fans would tear him up everytime he did something wrong.
ADAPT
So kinda like now?

My two cents, adjusted for inflation.
Backes is seen as the guy they’ve groomed for the job. Based on how hard he plays, I can see that. He’s got youth, skill, and treachery on his side. There’s also the whole matter of the prohecy and hearing “It was foretold! Doom upon the general manager who seeketh to give the C to another, for Backes shall lead thee unto the Stanley Cup!” over and over in the halls at Scottrade center, but I won’t get into that.
Jackman is the old man of the group, so to speak, in that he’s the oldest guy with the longest tenure on the team; St. Louis is the only team he’s known. I could see him getting the C.
Steen has been here for a couple years, like McDonald, but this isn’t their first team like it is with Backes and Jackman. Still, though, they’ve become fixtures who are beloved by the fans. Happy Meal could easily get the C with his combination of age and tenure, though he hasn’t been here much longer than Steen.
I’m hoping for Backes, expecting Jackman, and hope everyone on the team steps up to support their new captain.
Let's Go Blues!
Support your local NAHL team. Seriously.
Backes is also the one
that they invited to the draft to welcome players to the Blues organ-I-zation right?
Hail to the Blues
Backs and Jax can't control the locker room
based on Osh and Bergie getting drunk at the club listening to fergie. Soft money on 42 hard money on Langdenbrunnerer.

I say 3 (or more A's) and no C
the C will be slapped on Petro starting in 2012. But I wouldn’t bet any real money on that, maybe my Silver Strike Bowling Money.
