I believe, barring injury, that the team should be left as is. Unless someone wants to GIVE US a useful player. I do not want to trade the talent it would require to obtain a big scorer. At the end of the season we could have seven 20+ goal scorers (eight counting Mcdonald who most likely would have been had he been healthy the whole season). Pretty impressive three lines to roll and spreads the injury risk out. We have one of the best defensive teams in the league, very solid goaltending, and a good blend of youth and experience. We have a young defensemen (Cole) that would be starting every night for most teams, sitting in the wings. And two potential impact forwards arriving in the next two years. It’s not broke, don’t try to fix it. Sorry, but I still have flashbacks of a potentially great Blues team self destructing in the infamous Garth Butcher/Dan Quinn trade many years ago.

I think it would be smart to take a run at signing FA Bryan McCabe. He would be a great option to help out with the power play and give the Blues a 3rd offensive minded defensemen. I agree, Cole is a great option going forward and he needs to get experience. Signing McCabe would allow plenty of rest for the DEF going into the playoffs and still give Cole a chance to play. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to have another veteran in the locker room to help teach the younger players.
