JR Reports Stillman Has Signed Purchase Agreement
The great Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Tom Stillman, the erstwhile minority owner, has signed a purchase agreement to purchase to buy the Blues.
We've seen this song and dance before, but frankly, I think Checketts is out of time. And money. He's out of money.
We'll have more on this if anything else happens.

Great news, if it goes anywhere.
I’ll still miss Checketts though, and I think any Blues fan that underestimates his role in turning us around. When he took over, we were the worst franchise in the NHL, and I’d argue from a hockey decision perspective, we might be the best now.

In related news...
…the Blues will be playing one game at London’s Wembley Stadium in each of the next three seasons…
Oh wait…
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
If this does go through then thank you Checketts for all you have done
Bringing back the Blues from a team that was demolished by the lockout and rumored to leave town back to a successful St. Louis franchise

Do you think the fact that the Blues are doing so well...
…may have encouraged Stillman’s group to accept a higher purchase price? With that sweet, sweet playoff money coming in (and hopefully a few rounds of it), they have every reason to make the deal and start getting paid back right away.
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
That would make sense, and with even more young talent coming up the pipes
Ots not like that money is likely to dry up anytime soon

We said that 3 years ago after the playoffs, too
though this is obviously a far superior squad knock on wood
Who is this Tim Stillman guy?
Wait, is he related to Trent Stillman? The pierogi king of Soulard?
Trent Stillman?
That guy owes me money!

Out in the real world, where JR's tweet references "Tom" Stillman...
… you’re absolutely right.
But God created the Internet specifically so that I could have a place to go and razz people who don’t fact-check their blog posts. (Well, She also made it for animated GIFs of puppies. But I digress.)
That and to find all the people who are named Trent who are actualy doppelgangers of real people
Because they usually owe us money.

AverageJoe is a pretty sharp guy
I think this is more a case of the “I” and “O” being next to each other, than him not knowing the name of parties interested in buying his favorite hockey team.

Lets get down to it...
If Mr Stillman buys the team…BETTER BEER SELECTION…Summit Distributing is a Miller and & coors (among others) distributor…I will have better, tastier lager options other than Bud or Bud Light
Maybe even Stag

As long as the beers of the world...
stand outside section 114 doesnt go away I dont care about the rest of the beer selection in the stadium.

Glad to see..
…that Mirgan Street started getting into the distribution game. I just hope they start tapping more of their heavier brews at local bars.

They have 6 row and a few other locals behind 122
I LOVE six row and ferguson is really good but they do the Whale from six row, which is ok, thier double IPA is a lot better and seasonally they do ESB which is my favorite beer and six row makes one of the better of not the best ESB, they also could use so Ofallon brewery or Augusta Brewery beer, but Morgan Street, Six Row, and Ferguson isn’t a bad selection, especially considering its a sports stadium

yes this is where morgan street is of course
it is not a beer stall it is a food joint so not tipping is pretty much standard, so if ya tip at the beer stands, get some locals and get some taste and save a buck, or .50 or whatever you tip

it felt weird not tipping
for real beer, so i passed the guy a buck on 2 (as opposed to the buck on 1), i may have to stop by there more often as i do enjoy local beers, that and wont have to bring cash everytime

Great news
I hope this one wasn’t signed on a wet napkin. Also, I hope Stillman’s group has the finances to keep the Blues a contender for years to come.
Rule 78.5 And A Half:
All rules go out the window if the play in question occurs during a game including the St. Louis Blues franchise. All ruling shall go against said franchise.
-J-Mill
"... has the finances..."
That’s the $64.3 million dollar question, right there.
Guardedly optimistic
Seen this movie before, but it sounds good. And it def. sounded better than the Hulsizer-Checketts partnership (mush as I like Checketts, I don’t like his wallet).
Hopefully this brings some stability so they can build on their succ— … I mean whatever this team delivers this season.
Lighthouse Hockey: A flute with no holes is not a flute. A Dane with no holes is Frans Nielsen.
I had a bad feeling about Hulsizer
The first moment I heard about the Trick-Play financing him and Checketts were trying to arrange.
I would be glad to get some people in Non-Hockey (Business-Side) Operations that have at least a cursory knowledge of hockey so we don’t have to be submitted to another boneheaded marketing gimmick.
— Really, whatever gets “Blues to the Bone (est. 1969)” off the Jumbo-tron. It’s fucking embarrassing.

I'll belive it when...
The NHL approves Stillman’s Purchase agreement. It would be great if Brett Hull is also one of the investors. This has gone on too long and agree the Checketts aka Gordon Gecko, is out of time and $$$$$$$.
As a long suffering fan since 1974, the 2011-12 Blues are a special team, buying into ’cock’s system, and winning at home. However there are storm clouds on the horizon. And ’Cock has expressed his concerns in a PD article a week or so ago. Starting Feburary 23rd at Nashville, is a 6 game road trip, then a 3 game homestand in early March, then a Seven game road trip. Oh boy…
IMO : The Blues Offense puts a lot of shots on goal but struggle to score goals. Bergland and Stewart are underachiving this season. The oppertunity to land a elite scoring talent is a must by the trading deadline. We will see if Management pulls the trigger. Parise would look great in a Blues Uniform and the Devils need a Goalie as a example.
