One More Year in the Southeast, 'Peggers:
The NHLPA apparently refused to agree to the league's realignment plans, which has led to the league postponing the revamped schedules and formats until at least 2013-14.
Here's the link to the nhl.com story. Deputy Commish Bill Daly sounds pissed in his comments. I think the proposed realignment will happen; it makes too much sense not to. But reading between the lines, I think the players' union has decided to make realignment a bargaining chip in the upcoming CBA; they'll want to get something in exchange for their "concession" on the issue.
Would love to be wrong here. Time will tell.

This is Just a Warning Shot
NHLPA picked something they can veto without causing too much damage to show the NHL that they mean business in CBA negotiations this summer.
It’s just Fehr showing that he won’t lay over and play dead.
It’s a shame, I was looking forward to Loseapegg being crushed year after year by the ’Hawks, Wings, Preds, and us. (still bitter)
What a crock of shit from the players
Crombeen has a huge pile of crapola he had to spew in the Post-Dispatch as player rep.
“For us, it’s great,” Crombeen said. "Our travel’s easy, but you look at Winnipeg, they’re crossing the border every single time they’re traveling. Not that they’re not doing that now…
Oops.
And the travel? The poor dears. Maybe their profession should pay them millions of dollars so they can cope with their charter flights. Oh wait….they already do.
MAybe the real fairness should be for fans of a team that might like to see a game or two in their own fucking time zone. Maybe the real fairness would be to give the season ticket holders, you know the people that scrimp and save to be able to afford to go to the games, a chance to see the playoffs the way they WANT to see the playoffs – i.e. against real rivals.
If the players think this is gonna fly they are out of their fucking minds.
