Anybody wanna see Jay McClement back?
Jay was "my guy" when he was here. I appreciated his talent and hard work. I understood the trade that dealt him, but I would like to see him back. Other than nostalgia, I have nothing to back my opinion up. I have not followed his time in Colorado, but was hoping someone smarter than me knows how he has been doing. You got reasons for yes? You got reasons for no? Tell us about it.

if we had jay
we would ahve a checking line
so i guess that decides it.
do you want backes to be the combo shutdown – score line where his line does both fairly well OR do you want an excellant shutdown line and a better scoring output from the backes line as they face the other teams second best group?
that is a huge difference in our team. what? we lost jay? no. we lost a checking line when we lost jay.
is that bad? who know?, we had 3 checking lines, now we have zero. maybe something in the middle is better? not sure. many teams had three scoring lines when the blues had 1. the blues were late to the “ditch that 3rd line” party.

I'd love to have him back as well...
he was my favorite when he was here. He would definitely be a positive force on our PK, not that our PK is terrible, but it could be better, and his hard work is always valuable.
langs has no trade protection
and McClement really hasnt been that good in Colorado, I think the Blues let him go at the right time for the right players,
going through the handshake line at my game the other night, guy says youre still a prick Evan...me: yep sure am next time stop me from scoring
Would never
give up Langenbrunner for McClement.
Langs appears to be a good influence in the locker room – not to mention his hard work on the ice – whilst I like McClement … I feel that Langenbrunner gives us so much more.

Silent Jay was a favorite.
Great guy, great player, respect his game, got the jersey to prove it.
That said, as Pietrangelo’s play made Johnson expendable, I think Sobotka’s potential made McClement expendable.
Sobotka plays a similar game to McClement, but he’s also a bigger hitter and, I think, a better offensive player. If Silent is still in St. Louis, where does he fit now? Where does Sobotka fit? The fact is that while many of us respect McClement’s game, it’s a game that is not unique – we have someone else doing it right now.
I like him
But in Colorado he’s struggled.. and at best he’s our fourth line center now…. meaning we should only take him back basically for free.
I agree with what was said as well. Langenbrunner is more valuable up and down this team, and Sobotka is a better all around player. As well, Jason Arnott is our third line center now, and that is a huge improvement.

No thanks.
To get what we got in the trade for him, we had to deal him. He’s gone. He’s not coming back.
As much as I liked Silent Jay, the day with him in the Blues’ hold is over. It’s okay to get over it.

Can't live in the past.
Love the guy, appreciate everything he did in the Bluenote – but as mentioned above, Sobotka has replaced him on the ice. No, I wouldn’t trade for him.
Next summer, Arnott and Langenbrunner are free agents, and the Blues may not re-sign both. At that point, if there are holes to fill and a free market available, it may make sense to bring back Jay Mac. Check back in July.
