"The Streak" is over... Rivs finally get a win.

On the road, no less... emerging scoring threat Anthony Peluso tallied the game-winner late in the third period to give the Rivermen a 5-4 win at The Big Orange Box in downtown Rockford. The goal at 16:26 of the third period was Peluso's fifth of the year, tying his career high just 13 games into his fourth pro season.

Jake Allen turned away 40 of 44 shots from IceHog sticks to give the Rivs their first road win of the 2012-13 season, and T.J. Hensick turned in a career-high four point night (1 G, 3 A). Hensick has been en fuego in the last four games, with two goals and 11 points in that span.

Philip McRae had a multiple-point night as well, scoring his first goal of the season and assisting on Jaden Schwartz' power-play tally in the first period, and veteran Derek Nesbitt also tallied for the Rivermen (3-7-2-1, 9 pts), who will stay in Illinois for their next seven games, beginning with a home-and-home series vs. the arch-rival Chicago Wolves on Friday (home) and Saturday (road).
