The last "Prospect Sunday" of the 2012 calendar year. Most Blues' prospects saw limited action during this week due to the Christmas holiday; one saw no action at all, for other reasons... World Junior Championship updates, reinforcements sent to Evansville.
1. The last "Prospect Sunday" of the 2012 calendar year... most of the prospects saw limited action during this week due to the Christmas holiday. One saw no action at all due to Hockey Canada's policy of letting hype and draft position, rather than performance in selection camp, determine who plays.

PROSPECT TRANSACTIONS THIS WEEK
12-26-12: RW Cody Beach, C Anthony Nigro, D Brett Ponich, and RW Sebastian Wännström reassigned from Peoria (AHL) to Evansville (ECHL) by St. Louis (NHL).
PROSPECT INJURY REPORT
11-19-12: C Tyrel Seaman (Brandon/WHL) out indefinitely with concussion symptoms.
11-25-12: D Jani Hakanpää (Blues Espoo/SML) out through December with lower body injury.
WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
ITEM: G Jordan Binnington has not seen a minute of action in the World Juniors, and likely will not.
ITEM: RW Ty Rattie, who is scoring better than 1.5 points per game and is a plus-28 in the best major junior league in the world, has a pair of goals in three games playing on Canada's third line. Rattie is a plus-1 with no PM and eight SOG in three games vs. Germany, Slovakia and Team USA.
ITEM: G Niklas Lundström came off the bench to play the shootout round against Switzerland on Dec. 28, and stopped all three attempts he faced to stake Juniorkronorna to a 3-2 win (LINK here to article in Swedish at hockeysverige.se), then turned away 20 of 21 shots vs. Latvia the next day to post a 5-1 victory.
ITEM: D Petteri Lindbohm is serving as Finland's captain in the 2013 World Juniors, and has an assist, no PM, an even plus-minus, and three SOG. Finland currently holds third place in Group "A" with two wins and five points.
ITEM: LW Dmitrij Jaskin has two goals (including the game-winner vs. Latvia earlier today), six minutes in penalties, and is a plus-2 in three games. The Czechs, like Finland, have two wins and a loss, but because both of the Czech wins were in regulation (one Finnish victory was in OT), both wins are three-point wins to give the Czechs six points and second place in Group "A" behind undefeated Sweden.
