Last night's game against the Topeka Roadrunners helped the Springfield Jr. Blues maintain hopes of a playoffs spot. They beat the Roadrunners five to two and improved their record to 20-21-2.

The second period of the game looked to fall apart for the Jr. Blues, but thankfully their goal scorers reappeared in the third period. Goalie Gabe Antoni was way out of position on the first Topeka goal, far outside the crease and tangled up with a Roadrunner player. He also caused the power play that allowed the Roadrunners to score their second goal with a delay of game penalty. He decided to take a page from the Michigan Warriors' goalie from last week and try knocking the net off of its moorings. Two Springfield goals were also waved off in the first and third periods respectively.
Attendance was also down last night with only 1043 showing up. We as junior hockey fans can do better than that! The next Jr. Blues game is tonight at 7pm at the Nelson Center in Springfield. Tickets are $8 and $5 for children, seniors and military personnel.
