St. Louis Blues At Carolina Tropical Depression GDT

Stay connected for news and updates

Now that's a save with flair.

First, shoutout to our friends in Anaheim for giving the Red Wings a giant shitburger to eat last night. Four-zip Ducks is an awesome sight, especially after the Blues blew a game they could have won on Tuesday in Chicago. That was then, this is now. The seven-game road trip hits stop No. 3, the Carolina Hurricanes. More like the Tropical Depressions to me. I don't think this team blows hard enough to even be a named storm. Weather jokes, I have them.

The Hurricanes are not a good team. Playing in the obviously weaker conference, they have just 67 points on the season. That puts them in 13th place in the East. They have 17 wins at home. The Blues have 16 wins on the road this season.

The guy to watch out for on the Canes is Eric Staal. At least I think that's the Staal brother who plays there. They all look the same to me. Whichever Staal it is, I'm sure he has a criminal record and is leading the Canes in points, tied for the lead in goals and leads in assists. Only four guys on the roster have played every game this season. That's kind of indicative of what the year has been like in NASCAR country.

Also, Cam Ward isn't invincible. He can stop more than 91 percent of the shots he sees and still allow 2.82 goals a game. That's a lot of rubber flying at him to stop that many while allowing that much scoring.

I have no idea who the starting goaltender is for the Blues. Could be Brian Elliott. Could be Jaroslav Halak. I do know that Jaden Schwartz is not expected to make his debut tonight and Jason Arnott is getting a few days off because he's old. Gonna try that excuse tomorrow at work. And I'm even one year older than him.
