The Blues' seven-game road trip continues in Anaheim tonight. It's almost fitting that while the team is down the road from Disney Land, the traveling Disney On Ice show is setting up back home at the Drinkscotch Center this week. Synergy, they have it.
This is such a long road trip, the Blues actually were home Sunday and Monday during the trip. This time away from St. Louis has been a mixed bag. Banged up players (Andy McDonald, David Backes), coughing up a shotout defeat in Chicago, getting shutout in Carolina mixed with a dominating win in Tampa and a solid victory in Columbus. What I'm trying to say is anything could happen tonight.
The Ducks have about given up for the 2011-12 season. After being feisty much of February, they've come back to earth in March going 4-5-1 over their last 10 games to fall 11 games out of the playoff race. The rest of the season has been packaged up with appropriate postage put in place. The postal carrier should be here any minute to mail in the rest of the season for the Ducks.
We've had word that Jaroslav Halak will get the start tonight with no inkling abot the rest of the trip. Jaden Schwartz would be on pace to score 82 goals this season if he hadn't gone back to school. Smart move, "student athlete." I know it's a late game. It's a Wednesday night. Back in college that meant it was time to drink. Oh to be 22 and without responsibility again.
This is your game day thread. Comment like every dick joke will get you a ticket to Disney Land.
